What cars have you had/driven and which was the best/worst?

I've owned a

Vauxhall Corsa (loved it, cheap and cheerful!)
Nissan Almera (HATED it, horrible smelly thing)
Rover 200 (old man's car, it embarrassed me)
Ford Focus (love it, nice and nippy)

I've driven a

Citroen Picasso (Middle age-mobile - not cool)
Ford Focus C-Max (loved it!)
Vauxhall Zafira (loved it, despite how uncool it looks)

Out of all of them - I prefer the Focus. I WANT an AUDI A5 [in love]

I've owned and driven loads but the best and worst were:

I loved my first car which was a Ford Escort (sentimental reasons only, the car was piece of crap!)
I loved my Audi TT convertible. It had four wheel drive, was well put together and fast
I love my current BMW 3 series touring because it's rear wheel drive so feels quite sporty and it's really well built so I feel that my son and I are as safe as I can make us without a tank.

The worst car I have driven is easily a Fiat Brava. It was a hire car that I had for 2 days nearly 15 years ago and it was so bad that I still remember almost every minute I had to spend in it. Next bad was every Peugeot I've ever driven - hideous gear boxes [shudder].

I have owned 3 corsa's.
I old banger saloon but I loved it.
I 3 dr which got too small when ds2 arrived.
And my current 5 dr.
I love it.
Easy to drive, big enough boot and ok to park.
Don't like the look of the new corsa's though so no idea what other car I would have!

Dhs Toyota corolla was a nice car to drive but the back was so high I couldn't see out of the rear window!
Have driven Dhs passat estate and hate it. It's like a tank.
His old car was a mondeo and hated that too.
My dads ford focus estate. Also hate that. Diesel cars are very noisy!
Have driven a fiesta and c max in hols and liked them both.

I like the look of the fiat 500...any good?

Ford Escort 1100 gxl, sporting green. Cost about #1100 gbp a long time ago.

Easiest bike: little Yam 125. Started on the button every time. But shiny and ugly and it hissed instead of making a proper noise, so it went when I passed my test.

Hardest bike: BMW R something. Big fairing, it was a bastard.

In between: Commando 850 (1978) quite high and very powerful. Beautiful. I couldn't reach the floor so that didn't work out.

Hyabusa (1300 suzuki) very responsive, very quick. Nice actually but I'd have been straight into a wall if I'd owned it.

Moto Guzzi 350 - gearbox was shite, footpeg kept falling off, started on one and stayed on one much of the time, ugly as fuck but strangely beautiful too. Rode every day for a few years.

" " 500 - very pretty and noisy, again the gears were dodgy as anything, but it was gorgeous.

Honda CG125 - learner bike, nice but no electric boot. Honda CB125 - never rode it, it was a clothes depository in my bedroom for a few months while I tried to rewire it. Honda CD175 - pretty restored thing but wouldn't hold any charge. (6v). Honda 250 - good, worked nicely but boring.

Worst bike EVER - Honda 50 from 1970s. It would cut out when you rode through a puddle and you had to push it home.

I've dirven too many cars to list:
Favourite: SAAB 9000 - fast, comfortable, had everything. I miss it still.
Worst: Audi A4. The driving position buggered my right leg up, I still have problems with cramp. Several other people have reported the same thing.
Crappest: Leyland / Austin something or other. It was only happy at 90, rattling away like a tin can. Dreadful.
Most fun: choice between Citroen 2CV and current Micra, which is so zappy around town.

Ancient Morris 8, bought for £10,started with handle, skint student
Swapped for almost as ancient Ford Anglia, bought when realised Morris 8 had no brakes whatsoever.

Saab, can't remember model, built like a green tank, every window had demisters & found tyre chains in boot.

Mini

Series II Landrover

Mini Clubman, often with back seat cushion removed to transport goat.

Triumph Toledo

Half timbered Mini Traveller, starting button, string door handles, hole in petrol tank so had to carry can in back to constantly top up, brilliant little car.

Big Vauxhall, can't remember model, DS always felt sick in it so glad when DH wrote it off on motorway less pleased at him also junking my years of no claims, swine

Ford Cortina Estate, fab, loved it, unfortunately crushed by lorry along with me so on leaving hospital went to car auction & spent £80 on

Little hatchback, might have been Peugeot, I forget, which after 6 months traded in at a profit for

Mini Mayfair, which I owned for 22 years as couldn't bear to part with it even though bought others to use daily, sadly now gone.

Lots of Rovers, ending with the 75.
MGs, which I hated, so did the dogs.
Alongside Landrovers of various types from ancient Series I,via Freelanders, Discos,Defenders to current one.

I haven't driven many cars but...

Dad's Renault something (quite old and scruffy car) in which I learned to drive so at the time thought it was a good car until I had some driving lessons in a school car; a VW Polo which was a lot easier to steer and park but terribly uncomfortable.

'Inherited' (i.e. shared to the point of her hardly ever having access), mum's Citroen 2CV - even then it was over 20 years old - which was huge fun, extremely cheap to run and tres chic but very, very under-powered.

When I worked for a small practice during my final year I was sometimes allowed to borrow one of the partner's cars an enormous Peugeot estate for site visits and so on. After the first few times I quickly learned how to reverse park so the builders wouldn't have the chance to make fun of me making a mess of manoeuvring off buildng sites!

Then I had a 5-year old Clio which was OK-ish but a bit cramped.

Last year I finally bought my first new car - an Alfa 159.

Worst was the Renault. Best - by far - is my Alfa!

I also drove a Toyota Aygo last week, for around 2 hours and I loved it.

out of these I loved the Alphas, even though they are temperamental and adored the MX5, the Fords were so different , the XR2i fun and the basic Fiesta - shite, the Merc was not all they are cracked up to be and the BMW was reliable but boring - the Landrover was a bit too grown up - L200 is ace.

All had their good and bad points. Most unreliable was the A6 (think we had a dud one), worst to drive was the Mazda MX5. Worst to be driven in was the Jazz (vomit inducing). Best to park was the Fiat Panda, but not great on motorways. Currently feeling the Volvo love.

So many bangers...

Triumph Dolomite.. learned to drive in it, ex rally car and still had the roll over cage!!! A hideous tank which gave me a near death experience when the accelerator stuck down....

Mini... a proper little one. First car of my own, total rust bucket and I loved it. I also learned to weld thanks to its rotten sub frame!

Fiat Uno x2 First one written off when a drunk driver hit me ..I was 31 weeks pregnant. Great car!

Rover metro. God no. Just awful. Inherited from my gran. I was actually happy when it died.

Mitsurbishi Space Wagon. Great load lugger til the timing belt went.

Smart Car (fortwo) LOVE LOVE LOVE MY SMART! Best car ever. Had to trade it in as semi auto gear box and my son needed to learn to drive. He has now passed his test and I'm looking at Smarts again!

Nissan Micra.. current car. Reliable, light as a feather to drive and park, and dare I say it, pretty decent. But has 110,000 on the clock and is getting poorly so am hoping to change back to a smartcar soon.

Have driven too many cars to list But two staand out

THE WORST - My Father's Lada Riva - it had no power steering was only a 1200 engine yet quite Russian tank like - almost impossible to back into a space in. I had to get my DH who had the time had not passed his test to park it for me as it needed more muscle than I had :)

THE BEST - my current car BMW 320 (i) - it is not at all heavy to drive yet is is a good heavy, safe car with enough acceleration to get past the lorries on teh motorway quickly.

Drove an Isuzu Trooper once on holiday - great fun, but huge (7 seater thing)

Fiesta van - brilliant for carting building stuff around
Golf GTI Mk2. Loved it.
Peugeot 405 SRi (company car). Built like a tank, pretty fast but did I really need a sales rep saloon? No.
Toyota Mr2 Mk2. In metallic turquoise!! Complete girl racer stuff.
Metro. Aargh. Shopping trolley.
Fiat Punto. Really cute, but not big enough for two buggies in the boot
Renault Scenic Megane. Like a small bus, but practical for kids.
Another Golf TdI. Fab.
Short relationship with a Citroen DS3. French shopping trolley but v pretty with Orla Kiely flowers on it.
Now. Back to a Golf Tdi. Are you sensing a pattern here?

Favourite: Golf. Worst: Metro.

Too many to list but...
Worst - A 1974 Ford Mustang V8. It belonged to a friend and was scary to drive. The steering was so powered up that it didn't centre, instead it would drift left and right at random, and the brakes has no feel so one minute you weren't slowing and a split second later the wheels were locked up.

Best - Mazda MX5. Quite simply the most fun car on the road if you're on a budget. Even better, I imported it from Japan then sold it 2 years later for a 30% profit.

Rover GTi - good but old (things kept falling off like the exhaust manifold)

Corsa - slower than sheep

Fiesta - good car, cheap to run and maintain

Fiesta ST - a fortune to run (13-24 mpg) and maintain (tyres £150 each and needed EVERY year) but I LOVE IT!!!!

I have to sell it after the arrival of LO in September. No idea what to replace it with. Depressed at the boring options.

Maybe Audi A3 (want but can't have the S3) or Ford Focus (want but can't have the RS). I'm just a boy racer at heart

I've had

2CV - Fabulously unreliable but it was always a talking point and I was very fond of it.

Old Mini - Super duper - could always find a parking space.

Citroen AX - Good

Citroen Saxo - Better

Renault Megane - Lovely features but I'm sure the electrics were a bit dodgy

Vauxhall Zafira - Hated the damn thing

Ford Focus - Reliable - No complaints

Fiat 500 - Just got it and love it so far.

Talbot horizon (same as a chrysler alpine) - brill, could fit everything I owned in the back

Renault 5 - brill too

Vauxhall chevette - truly awful, kept it for 2 weeks then took it back to the garage for a refund

Mini clubman 1972 - ok, rather bumpy but cool and wish now I had hung on to it

Nissan sunny - not bad but rather slip on shoe/medallion man ish

Honda concerto - ok but an old married couples car

Renault espace - great for separating fighting kids - 3 clutches in one year so it had to go

Ford galaxy - does the job but far too common

I want an old morris traveller which the dc are banned from riding in

I currently drive a Corsa which I love. This is the 3rd corsa I have had.

Before that I had a metro (first car, loved it :)) and a fiat sciento thing which was horrendous!

I have also driven a Kia Sedona which was lovely.

VW transporter (every drive a mini workout!) - great cred but essentially a PITA
Fiat Brava - my little rally car, love it.

My first car was a Peugeot 309. Loved it - very nippy and reliable.
Peugeot 106 - OK but not as good as the 309
BMW 316 - nice but underpowered
BMW 323iSE - loved this car. My fave (and dd's)! V sorry to see it go.
We now have an Audi A6 estate. Lovely to drive, can fit bikes in the back. Has cost us a small fortune to maintain though, things keep going wrong. A friend said we were unlucky! Not sure what we'll go for next. My dad has a Peugeot 308SW which seems OK.
