What cars have you had/driven and which was the best/worst?

Vauxhall Corsa (loved it, cheap and cheerful!)
Nissan Almera (HATED it, horrible smelly thing)
Rover 200 (old man's car, it embarrassed me)
Ford Focus (love it, nice and nippy)

I've driven a

Citroen Picasso (Middle age-mobile - not cool)
Ford Focus C-Max (loved it!)
Vauxhall Zafira (loved it, despite how uncool it looks)

Out of all of them - I prefer the Focus. I WANT an AUDI A5 [in love]

My favourite that I've actually owned is also an Audi A3 but I'd love to try a some of the sporty-looking numbers I see on Top Gear. Worst car ever... anything by Citroen. I use a fair few hire cars and the Citroens always seem to be falling apart.

Ford Fiesta - Without power steering - Hated it
Vauxhall corsa - Liked it. Could park it anywhere
Renault scenic - Loved all the compartments but hated driving it (Although loved being high up as I'm a short arse)
Land Rover Freelander - Love it, high up, and it makes me feel safe

Ford fiesta - pile of crap, drove like a pig
Ford escort - ditto plus wheels fell off
Mazda 323 ugly but drove smooth and solid
Mazda 5 sport - love it, quiet, smooth, solid and reliable.

Worst - Citroen AX

Best - Corsa

I own a Micra which I love but isnt the most comfortable.

Owned two Peugeot 309s and a 306 and loved them all.
Nissan Micra, that was OK for nipping around town.
Had a Mitsubishi Space Wagon which spent half it's life in the garage and we finally had to scrap, but the children cried when it went and I was pretty sad! A wonderfully practical car. One child in each row and no fighting!

Now I drive a Fiat Punto my parents got for me because they were worried about all the old bangers we drove the DCs around in. It's shiny and new and I should love it but I don't. It has no guts, still drinks plenty of petrol and is just not enough of a work horse for us. Bits fall off more regualrly than they did on the ancient Peugeots. But I can't sell the damn thing and buy another lovely Peugeot banger as it was a gift.

Peugeot 106, 3 door, L reg. Could have been a lovely car had previous owners cared for it. Dp loved it.

Fiester, p reg. 5 door, dodgy as fuck, randomly refused access to the boot.

Volvo 440, did 400 miles and the clutch went, then suspension, fecking pita.

Peugeot 406 estate. P reg. Diesel. Bloody lovely, would have another in heartbeat, we parted ways as it was getting old and had 240k on the clock, this was a year a go and its still chugging along.

Peugeot 307, 2002. Evil, evil, evil. Hated it, it had issue after issue eventually decided to scrap it and the bloke said its the most common car he has scrapped.

Vauxhall zafira. Hated it, just a sodding inconvienience in every way! And a total money pit for fuel and insurance and tax. And after buying it thinking it was a great family car as everyone has one I discover I'm essentially signing my dcs life away by seating them in the back.

Fiat multipla, love it love it love it.

Have driven VW Golfs and Polos, old and new and always fanatastic to drive.

Same with Volvo

Have never driven a decent Vauxhall or French made car

Lots of love here for the humble Corsa. I loved mine too, very reliable and could park anywhere.

Loved my Citreon C3.
Very disappointed with my Golf, I'd wanted one for ages and it was just ok. Aircon was terrible.
Least reliable was my Megane.

Currently hankering after a VW Taureg -totally impractical and unnecessary where I live but I would love one.

Ford Escort - my first car in 1995 ish. Loved it. But it was atrocious. Didn't work in the rain. Had a manual choke that I kept forgetting to push back in. Conked out several times resulting in me getting towed to various destinations. But it was MINE!

I then didn't own another car (moved to London) until my dad gave me his old Audi in about 2005. It was like a TANK and the alarm kept going off. Tres reliable though.

The next car we got was a Nissan Almera in 2006 which was a nice little runaround and I still see now and again locally (sold it to our postman)

We sold that because DH was given a company car. A Nissan Qashqai which i really disliked. HUGE on the outside. Not very big on the inside in comparison. Everything was really clicky and snappy. And it guzzled oil.

Our Nissan Almera Tino is our Mr Reliable. Its filthy and battered and we dont care. However its a bit of a petrol guzzler.

The punto we had after got rid of the qashqai was great little runaround but I wrote it off.

We then got a grande punto. Massive mistake. Nightmare car. Still awaiting outcome of small claims against the dealership we bought it from after we had to replace the steering column. Nasty nippy doors with handles that stick in bad weather. Constantly flashing lights for some error or other. Hate it.

My favourite car has to have been my DS's Mini (a proper Mini not the BMW rip-off version). It was old, had no power steering and no power assisted braking but it had guts and it turned heads. Random strangers waved to us as we drove it home from way up north to the Fens. DS was very sad to sell it on but it has to one of the few cars you can buy, drive around in and sell for a profit.

Least favourite was a Mini Metro we hired years ago when we went to Jersey. It was a heap of jelly. It had the turning circle of a horse and cart and probably about as much get up and go.

Ford focus- lovely drive. Felt very safe.

Nissan note- loved how high up the seat was but wouldn't buy one.

Old school ford fiesta- sluggish
Peugeot 206- didn't like going above 70mph, not good when overtaking!

New Corsa- Could barely move itself forwards it was so heavy.

Peugeot 207 SW- actually a very nice drive. You can't complain about a car when you can fit a dismantled double bed and mattress in the back!

BMW 318- Engine too small for the size of the car. Really easy to stall and had no power in lower gears.

Brand new Golf GTD 2.0 ltr engine- love, love, LOVED this! Really responsive, amazing fuel consumption, plenty of power even in 6th gear.

My current car: Toyota Aygo- pleased with fuel consumption and size of the seats. Can fit 4 adults in the back. Plenty of power for around town and will happily sit at 70mph on motorway once it gets there. Just need to plan ahead for hills etc.

At 23 I think I have driven more cars than my parents! Company insurance gave me thw opportunity to have cars that I would never have been able to afford the insurance on.

The worst was the Almera,just no feel to it at all. The best was the XJs Jaguar. Most stylish was the old Vauxhall Cresta, an ex cheaufer driven car that the Fry's chocolate factory used.

Mini Metro loved it for the freedom it gave, was first car after passing test, I used to regularly reverse it into things and the rear bumper was v cheap to replace
2 x Peugeot 205s one after the other after dh rolled first one in a not-his-fault accident, then was sideswiped in an again not-his-fault accident in second one, so we gave up on them and got
Renault Clio mkll really nice to drive, and also v reliable. Was around the time of the Papa and Nicole adverts and I was called Nicole by car park attendant once
Renault Megane when ds2 came along the Clio just wasn't big enough - the pram took up the whole boot, but because we'd liked it, we stuck with Renault. This is the cAr we had our catastrophic crash in, the one that took dh from us, and left ds1 with severe and life threatening injuries. The crash (I cannot call it an accident, because how can you accidentally take loads of drugs and then deliberately pull out into oncoming traffic at 60mph? And that is what the guy who drove into us did) means I have no positive memories really of that car
Peugeot 306 bought with my dad after the crash, I didn't even test drive it because I was still in plaster! Needed something to get about in, and it was newish, and available. It was ok, but nothing special, and it got v temperamental in cold weather
Ford Focus ST oh how I loved this car, it was my fantasy 3 door fast as you like, black beauty. It accelerated quickly so overtaking on the same A road as where our crash was felt safe...but ultimately, I am a single mum, in the far north of Scotland, with 2 ds's, one of whom rides horses, and 2 dogs, so now I drive
Honda CR-V only car I have owned since brand new, never had any problems in the 3 years I've had it. Gets back and forwards from stables and fields with no difficulty, manages snow with ease. I will keep it til it dies, then probably get another one the same.

Least favourite = Nissan Figaro, completely impractical and totally unreliable.

Most favourite = Nissan Figaro, a dream to drive, easy to park and small children wave when they see it!

Worse- Classic old restored Mini Cooper bought as a gift which drives as if it was a tin can chucked down the road..

Best- big old Mercedes G Wagen- lumbering old beast of a car but brilliant in the country and practical for carting building supplies about for restoration

BMW 5 series - hated it, felt very low to the ground. Very suspect serving from BMW garage.

Mercedes B class - hate it. Gear box broke just out of warranty, despite full Mercedes servicing and new widget for gear box just before whole thing broke and they charged me for new widget again with the new gear box. Now take it to lovely local garage.

Hmmm, theme here of official servicing...

Smart car - loved it. Not the most luxe ride, but cheap as chips to drive, tax and insure. High driving position (yes really). Never a problem finding a parking space. It went up and down the country with me. It has now died - I am still in mourning. Waiting for...

Toyota IQ to be delivered. We shall see. My cars are getting smaller.

I learnt in a VW polo. It was Ok.
First car I bought was a Ford Landiner (1971) which fell to pieces gradually. It was shocking to drive. The number of fenceposts I demolished

Didn't have another car till this one which is a fiesta and absolutely lovely.
We had to hire another polo a few months ago while the fiesta was being repaired, and it was shite. It really was like a tin box after the ford.

I've also driven an old renault 5 I think it was, that was a bit shit too.

My car history will out me to anyone I know:

N Reg Citroen AX - loved it, it was my freedom
Suzuki Swift - was great until some fucker realised you could bend the doors from the top to break into it.
Megane Cabriolet - hated it. More because that particular one was shit though
Mitsubishi Lancer - was a 1.3 auto and built with less strength than a bean tin. Worst. Car. Ever.
Z4 - my current car and I love it to bits.

Other cars I have driven regularly:
E Class Merc - various models all of my dads. I would have one if I wanted a big old man saloon car to replace the go kart
Nissan Micra - mums car when I was 17 before I got my AX. Was fun, probalby because it was the first taste of freedom
Toyota Prius - awesome car despite being fucking ugly surprisingly quick so good for racing away from the lights
Toyota Avensis - husband's company car. Good for camping.
Ford Focus - felt really posh at the time as it was the first grown ups car that me and husband owned
Mercedes 4x4 - ok to drive but this one is a bit of a shitty horrid shed
Honda Civic - good normal car.

Porsche 911 - good fun once I remembered how to use a manual gearbox on the wrong side of the road (even my Z4 is an auto - 5 years since I've driven a manual)

You'd have to go a long way to find a better car to drive then the Prumobile.

A BMW M Sport 335d touring remapped to around 340BHP, it SHIFTS. Because its a tourer, and a subtle graphite, it's a stealth machine as few realise how stupidly powerful it is. It's like driving around in the worlds safest, most practical, supremely comfortable rocket.

Mr Pru put in a ridiculously bassy sub too and I particularly enjoy cranking up the speed garage as I cruise round the genteel Leicestershire rural hamlets :)

85 plate Vauxhall Astra - was truly awful as was something dodgy.

97 plate Corsa Vegas. Was brand new.

03 plate Astra Sxi. Was brand new too.

09 plate Insignia Sri. Was brand new too, and was the most amazing car ever! I still miss her ;o( sniff as moved to Oz.

Now have a Nissan X-trail, piece of crap with no pull whatsoever. Was forced into buying it by d h as HE liked it. In fact I fucking hate it!!!

They now sell Opel Insignias here..........Ahhhh, and relax........I have a plan ;)

Town car is a Corsa which cost us nearly £1000 to MOT yesterday...
