All-in-one outdoor jacket thingy for baby

Have trawled the shops today for one and they are all either the wrong size or not warm enough. I think I missed the boat as no one seems to be buying any more in. Is there a website where I can buy one - preferably not with ears - that is warm and will last the winter?

i think i saw something like you mention in M&s - it was an all in one outdoor outfit - it had a hood with it and made of waterproof material - hope this helps

motherinferior · 24/11/2003 16:01

I got a polartec fleece one from jojomamanbebe (sorry, Cha, I'm not stalking you!)

DebL · 24/11/2003 16:08

snugbug from bushbaby

sickbucket · 24/11/2003 16:14

mieow · 24/11/2003 17:29

What size and sex are you looking for, as I am sure I have some sitting here, up to size 12mths

mieow · 24/11/2003 17:33

I have just searched your name and found out you have a three month old son. I have a warm showsuit size 0-6 months in blue. Its fleecey and very warm. I can sent it to you if you wish. Use contact a Talker to eamil me.

Davros · 24/11/2003 17:40

I got a Polartec fleece one from Little Trekkers via Mumsnet discount section at home page, 10% off. Its warm enough not to bother with jacket, cardi underneath etc, has a nice elasticy hood, fold over hands and feet. I recommend it but they only have blue or red

ANGELMOTHER · 24/11/2003 17:45

E-bay have tons

Queenie · 24/11/2003 18:08

Your could try TKMAXX if you have one near you or there is a website called www.amalaika.com which stocks all sorts of designer baby and childrens clothes at discount which I have found really good before for out of seasonal stuff - you know -"you want summer clother in december cos you're off on hols type of thing!".

codswallop · 24/11/2003 18:31

nct sale was a winner for me!

Chinchilla · 24/11/2003 20:38

Sainsbury's (the clothing section! ) had some the other week.

codswallop · 24/11/2003 20:40

Lol at "no ears"

janh · 24/11/2003 21:23

mmm, the no ears bit made me smile too, coddy!

However the last time I went to Matalan they had some nice all-in-ones, I was holding them up and waving them at DD2, going "ahhhh, look at this" - well I thought they were nice - mind you some of them had ears....

Cha · 24/11/2003 23:04

Mieow - he is 3 months but he is MASSIVE. I think he weighs about 15lbs and has outgrown a 3-6 month Mothercare suit. I was looking for a 6-9 month one. Do you have a shop or someat?
Jojomamanbebe's are lovely but very £££.... Will check suggestions out tomorrow - cheers.

mieow · 24/11/2003 23:21

Ds was using it till he was 1 as it is a big 0-6 months.

elena2 · 24/11/2003 23:24

Gap did a nice navy snowsuit last year. Wanted one for ds1 but they didn't have any in his size

ANGELMOTHER · 24/11/2003 23:32

Ok there's
this

and not this

Cha · 25/11/2003 15:08

If I was to buy a 6-12 month Snugabug - wouldn't it be too large? He's 15lbs and about 75cm /30inches long and I think the 6-12 month option will be massive and the 0-6 he will grow out of by Xmas. Thanks for the ebay links - LOVE the lion suit. 99p? Bargain!
At this rate, he will be wearing his sister's 12-18 month fushia flowered jojomananbebe Polartec and be done with it.

My mil bought dd a red one with detachable feet and gloves, think it was from BHS. Would prob make the fashion police gag but is v warm and does the job.

Katherine · 25/11/2003 18:10

just got a catalogue through for a kids outdoor clothing shop which has the stuff we've got in it. Or have a look in a decent outdoors/ walking shop.

Cha · 25/11/2003 21:45

Katherine - can you redo that link? It's not coming up? Cheers.

Mieow - your suit, how long is it?

OP posts:
motherinferior · 26/11/2003 08:36

I got a £10 suit from a deeply cheap chain called Ethel Austin in Catford before lashing out on the polartec one.

Actually a lot of dd1 and dd2's clothes come form the same shop. The ones that don't come from Primark or courtesy of friends. Ahem.

janh · 26/11/2003 09:15

Cha, this is Katherine's link (just in case she doesn't get here for a day or two!)

MI, I used to get quite a few things from Ethel. Some of her stuff is very nice. (Some of it isn't!) No Primark near here unfortunately.

Davros · 26/11/2003 09:48

If you're going to go for "proper" outdoor wear, polartec fleece etc I still say look at Little Trekkers with MN discount!

Katherine · 27/11/2003 09:58

Sorry about that - should have previewed: its youngexplorers
