Just Curious - Sexy Clothing

At work today, one of the guys said there is nothing sexier on a woman than a white t-shirt and blue jeans.

That sparked off a whole conversation on clothing.

Women's ideas on what's sexy and Men's ideas on what's sexy seemed to be polar opposite.

A lot of the women thought the men would say a little black dress or something skimpy, but that wasn't the case.

Interested to hear what people have been told they look sexy in?

🤔 if I’m absolutely honest, it’s “how” a woman wears her choice that enthrals me…..you know, how some women can wear a bin liner and look amazing….?

Sorry, maybe not helpful……

Gymbunny2025 · 10/04/2025 19:45

I’m a woman- I kind of agree. I’m not into massively dressing up. I think simple, well fitting clothes always look best. Same with what I find attractive on a guy I guess. ‘Try hard’ is off putting for me

Gymbunny2025 · 10/04/2025 19:52

Oh and in terms of what I’ve been told I look sexy in- anything from jeans to lingerie to gym clothes or revealing dress. I don’t think men are that fussy really 😂

GreenCrow · 10/04/2025 19:53

I'm a married guy and I don't think anyone has ever said I look sexy in anything, but I've been told I look nice in a well fitted suit and in well fitting t-shirt and jeans, so I'd echo what @Gymbunny2025 says about the fit being the main thing. Took me a while to feel comfortable enough to wear them with being tall, clean cut and lean, rather than a muscle-bound bearded sort.

GarrynotsoGorilla · 10/04/2025 20:05

One of the sexiest "clothing" moments I have had is seeing a woman entering the bedroom wearing nothing but my shirt...
So plus 1 for the "how you wear it"

Catullus5 · 10/04/2025 20:19

I think any clothes have to fit and be well cut to make the wearer look good. But I'm more likely to notice dresses, which are way more versatile than t-shirt + jeans.

This week there was an Eid celebration at work and some of the Muslim women dressed up. Obviously they weren't dressed sexy but they did look wow enough for me to steal multiple glances.

Women's gym gear seems to me made to be fantastically sexy.

I (male) have quite a few colourful shirts and women sometimes randomly tell me I look good on them (but I know they're not for everyone and those who hate them will be keeping quiet.

No one ever tells anyone they look sexy at my place of work. Doing so would attract the Sauron eye of HR.

Barbara in the good life.

Dirty jeans and a tatty shirt. Wellies. Smudge of compost on her face.

Sexy as f*.

Nothing to do with Felicity Kendall then?

Deffo not FK. It's deffo Barbara. 😁

everywhichway · 10/04/2025 21:37

Would Margo in the same clothes (and facial compost) have done it for you?

thisismynewnamefornow · 10/04/2025 21:44

Male - definitely gym gear. Casual is more intriguing than dress up for me personally.

Probably not, but Margo in Margo clothes was pretty hot, too.

There is no doubt in my mind that Margo was the dirtier one out of the two. ❤️🍆

everywhichway · 10/04/2025 21:52

Yes, you can't go wrong with a nice floral print crimplene jumpsuit can you?

Interesting the love for gym wear. I definitely get more compliments wearing that than anything else.

thisismynewnamefornow · 10/04/2025 22:02

definitely a motivator to go 😆

Chipbarmandgravy · 10/04/2025 22:10

I work in a very female dominated workplace and have conversations like this regularly. There is a beautiful disconnect between what we think the opposite sex thinks is sexy and what is the reality like you found today.

I also believe if you knew what goes though our monkey man brains that you wouldn’t want to live with us.

For a woman I’ll go floaty floral summer dress on a breezy summers day.

For a man I think theatre blues look good prepared to be told different 😂

NCForThatForumM · 10/04/2025 22:17

+1 for Gym Gear and Summer Dresses.

Catullus5 · 10/04/2025 22:21

Gymbunny, are you surprised at the love for gym gear?

Chipbarmanandgravy: what are theatre blues?

Naturally I'm interested in knowing what looks good on a man (with a trim figure)

Gymbunny2025 · 10/04/2025 22:28

@Catullus5 I get its tight fitting but so is swimwear and lots of other outfits. Just seems like there’s something extra about it? I wear it most days before the gym and have definitely had some reactions to it.

I think men look great in jeans personally. Sorry not helpful! With nice masculine arms and hands and smelling amazing

Chipbarmandgravy · 10/04/2025 22:33

@Catullus5

Theatre blues are the classic NHS Theatre uniform, now worn more regularly in clinic also. I don’t wear them regularly but my mates wife only has to hear I had them on and she’s gone lol .

Should really buy my mate a set for his birthday 😂

Catullus5 · 10/04/2025 22:50

Gymbunny2025, women's gym gear sculpts in a way that, say, swimwear doesn't.

I don't have nice, masculine arms and hands unfortunately, they're too small. But not orange-coloured.

Haha, I thought theatre blues might be some kind of evening wear!

Just to clarify! We weren't saying each other looked sexy at work (though reading it made me laugh out loud!). My office looks out onto a car park so we see hundreds of people some days as there's a gym and shops nearby.

One of the more mature women in the office has a standing joke about torn jeans and says there's another person that's had a fall and torn their jeans!

I do like colourful shirts on men too. I'm probably in the minority of really liking men in Hawaiian shirts!

Gym clothes are sexy. I'm not surprised there's a battle for a window seat where I work! Hot stuff!
