Lube stains after THIRD wash! Please save my sheets

Siha345 · 14/11/2023 13:50

I bought some thick lube and it’s the best thing ever. However I just can’t get it out of my sheets. I’ve started having sex on a towel but it goes through and a towel isn’t really big enough to avoid hand prints.

Three sheets have just been washed for the third time and they’re STILL stained 😩. In the last few washes I’ve tried treating first with undiluted vinegar, Shout spray, fairy liquid and water spray, hydrogen peroxide (not all at the same time)

For this last wash I left the Fairy mixture overnight and then washed at 40°. They look like they haven’t been washed 😩😩

What else can I try?? The only thing I can think of is bleach but they aren’t white sheets

Bloody hell, what's in the stuff?? It can't be good for your body 😔

No advice, really. Maybe try Elbow Grease spray?

Siha345 · 14/11/2023 14:19

It’s thick silicone. Hm probably not great for the body! But it’s solved a lot of problems… except for on my sheets
That’s a good idea! Maybe a spray made for greasy things would work

Or a hotter wash? I always put my bedsheets on a 60 and it gets everything out.

DixonD · 14/11/2023 17:52

You’ll have to go really hot I’m afraid - 40 won’t cut it.

DixonD · 14/11/2023 17:53

Try washing powder too - I find it’s soapier

Startyabastard · 14/11/2023 17:53

Soda crystals known as 'washing soda' could probably sort this out.

Seas164 · 14/11/2023 18:04

They need a proper hot wash! Although if it's doing this to your sheets imagine what it's doing to your undercarriage...

I’ve heard of this but never used it. Going to send the bf to get some if he can’t find Elbow Grease!

I’ve never needed to wash anything above 40° before, I thought that was pushing the boat out 😆. Should I go straight for 90° or will that shrink the sheets?

Why is this in relationships? Housekeeping or sex, surely? Unless you're in a relationship with your sheets?

I think I’m going to do some googling because I thought it was pretty inert but you’ve raised a good point! It comes off easily in the shower so it’s weird that it’s different on fabric

Sorry! I was sure there was a sex category but couldn’t find it so felt like this was the most appropriate out of the ones I could see

Brilliant. How to wash sheets in the sex topic. Certain posters will be so disappointed. 🤣🤣🤣

Thehairyhand · 14/11/2023 20:35

Welcome to the sex board @Siha345

In the spirit of showing that us chaps are not all here to perv and that we know where the washing machine is. I’ve just found a comprehensive guide to solving your problem on wikihow.com hope that’s useful.

Also have a look at a company called splash blanket. As the name may suggest they specialise in blankets for those intimate moments and as luck would have they have a Black Friday sale 25% off.

I can include more details about the actual sex if that will help me fit in better 😂

Hiya, thank you!
The Wikihow has a couple of things I haven’t tried so will be giving them a go next.
A splash blanket is exactly what I need!! They look pricey though, I might have to stick with one of the waterproof pet blankets that came up when I googled the brand 😅

My thought is steam, good luck!

Thehairyhand · 15/11/2023 14:22

@Siha345

If the cleaning tips don’t work and it
Sounds like this new lube is a game changer then it maybe worth the investment maybe go for a smaller sizes which are cheaper. Although I have seen pet blankets recommended too.

id not put the 25% code on here as didn’t know if it was allowed. I can send it if you want it / can’t find it. Otherwise best of luck

I bloody love our side of MN! 👏👏
We should get more (almost) everyday problems for us to solve!

Our side? Aren't all the boards for everyone?

I think it’s fairly obvious to put a cover down, preferably waterproof, for ‘spills’ of any kind. Doesn't take a genius. 😬

Hope your sheets are like new soon OP!

Try Swarfega as something to rub on the stain before washing

PinotPony · 15/11/2023 19:44

Sheets of San Francisco would solve this problem. Worth every penny!

I'm surprised you've never washed at over 40 degrees. I thought bedding and towels should always be washed at 60...

Wakemeup17 · 15/11/2023 21:14

I had the same problem but the stains came out after third wash at 90 degrees. After then I changed to sliquid lube. Pricey but worth it (water based).
