Lube stains after THIRD wash! Please save my sheets

I bought some thick lube and it’s the best thing ever. However I just can’t get it out of my sheets. I’ve started having sex on a towel but it goes through and a towel isn’t really big enough to avoid hand prints.

Three sheets have just been washed for the third time and they’re STILL stained 😩. In the last few washes I’ve tried treating first with undiluted vinegar, Shout spray, fairy liquid and water spray, hydrogen peroxide (not all at the same time)

For this last wash I left the Fairy mixture overnight and then washed at 40°. They look like they haven’t been washed 😩😩

What else can I try?? The only thing I can think of is bleach but they aren’t white sheets

I bloody love our side of MN! 👏👏
We should get more (almost) everyday problems for us to solve!

Our side? Aren't all the boards for everyone?

I think it’s fairly obvious to put a cover down, preferably waterproof, for ‘spills’ of any kind. Doesn't take a genius.😬

Hope your sheets are like new soon OP!

Yes I’ll definitely get something waterproof to put down, the towel did nothing! Couldn’t find any degreasing sprays locally but I have one on the way as it’ll be useful for the kitchen so I hope the sheets will come up well 🤞

Sheets of San Francisco would solve this problem. Worth every penny!

I'm surprised you've never washed at over 40 degrees. I thought bedding and towels should always be washed at 60...

Oh wow, I think I’d have to save up for one of those sheets! I would definitely solve my problems though.

I’ve never heard that before, I’ve always done everything at 30° and it comes out clean. I use laundry sanitiser on sheets and pet things so hope that gets the dirt I can’t see

I had the same problem but the stains came out after third wash at 90 degrees. After then I changed to sliquid lube. Pricey but worth it (water based).

Water based ones are so much easier! I’ve tried lots including Sliquid but unfortunately don’t get on that well with them. To be frank I do anal 90% of the time so need something heavy duty 🙈

Just an update because I’m annoyed 😂. Used half a bottle of Elbow Grease, let it sit overnight, washed at 90° and the sheets are still stained. I don’t even know how that’s possible. Very close to emailing the company and demanding compensation for my £7 sheets and £3 socks

Bloody hell OP, just throw them away and cover properly from now on. I’m all for not throwing stuff away for the planet and all, but you’ve gone above and beyond to save them. 🤣

From my experience washing cycling clothing (chain oil stains) you really only get one chance to wash out stains. After the first wash the stains are mostly "baked-in".

"Elbow Grease"... is that the brand of lube?

Yes, you use half a bottle for the elbow and a full bottle if you intend to go in up to the shoulder 😄
