Best method for public hair removal?

Myturnatlast · 30/01/2022 18:51

So I use a razor in the shower but find I have to do this daily to stay smooth.
I'm hesitant about waxing as I've heard you have to let it get long first and I like to be totally smooth (and there's the pain thing!)
Is there a delapitory cream for down there which anyone recommends?

Woo woo hair removal cream is the best thing ever

theremustbemorecheese · 31/01/2022 17:44

I also highly recommend WooWoo 💯 it is amazing at leaving you silky smooth. If you want a laugh read the reviews 😁

Alonelonelylonersbadidea · 31/01/2022 18:46

Yup cream is the only way to go.
I use any that say sensitive

DillonPanthersTexas · 01/02/2022 14:36

Match and aersol can

sortitaht · 01/02/2022 15:31

Interested in the cream, never tried it. How often do you find you have to use it?

There's a couple of scary reviews of Woowoo on Amazon but I've ordered some anyway & will test a tiny bit first!

I went to order it myself and saw the same thing. Please feel free to post back before I brave it lol
Estherpologist · 02/02/2022 06:34

Woohoo didn't work for me. Had to leave it on longer than the instructions said, it still didn't get all the hair, and left my skin irritated. I wouldn't have wanted to leave it longer.
I prefer to get waxed. The first couple of times (years ago) was uncomfortable, but from then on its fine.

Inthesameboatatmo · 02/02/2022 07:47

Brave it you will be fine. I have the most sensitive reactive skin known to mankind and I put it absolutely everywhere down there . Front and back never had a bad reaction at all.

Myturnatlast · 02/02/2022 09:39

I'll be your guinea pig don't worry 🤣🤣

I’m not sure that there is a best method and there is not a one size fits all. I’ve been removing mine sine my mid to late teens, early 40s now, and have gone a full circle several times.

For me, the smoothest approach is waxing, but the downside is allowing for the regrowth periods in between. Although the regrowth seems softer, you still have to wait. Obviously it’s costlier. Most people’s bodies adapt well to it after the first few times (take a couple of paracetamol before) but don’t have sex the same day.

A daily shave in the shower with a good quality hair conditioner, keeps you neat and tidy. Any itching vanishes for most people as the body “learns” this is the norm. Ensure the razor has a sharp blade though. I recommend the Venus Raspberry.

The current generation of Veet pure is promising. The awful smell has gone and it seems kind to my skin. Do the spot test first - no exceptions!! Start to try and ease the hair off after 5 minutes and don’t exceed 10. I tend to coax the hair away with a razor rather than the plastic thingy provided. Then finish off with one of those nylon scrunchy things you use in the shower; forget what they are called. Again wash with conditioner afterwards.

Try them all, choose what is right for you and remember you can change your mind at any time.

Wax is the best. Doesn’t have to be that long and grows back more sparsely each time. Plus it feels SO clean when the hair is gone as it’s pulled out from the root

Agree. I used to shave and whilst not every day (blonde and fine hair growth) it was a pain. It was a revelation when my beautician suggested I stop waxing just my bikini line, and then shaving elsewhere and have waxed off what I want! So tried and yes was brilliantly smooth and for ages. But yes there does have to be some re growth but for me it is fairly fine and doable. You just have to get over the initial embarrassment the first time. After that it is just a routine part of my beauticians visit. DH always loves that Saturday night after my visit !

Why is removing all of your hair necessary? Won't a good trim do?

Are you doing it for you or are you scared that porn-soaked partners will be frightened of a fanny that doesn't look Barbie-like?

Oooo you're on this thread as well. Please read my comment on the other pubes thread. It's my response to your tiresome comment on this one too!!
StarlightLady · 06/02/2022 19:31

@crosbystillsandmash - Exactly! Hair removal is nothing new. It’s personal choice. It went on in Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome.

Err.... none of your business I'd say!

But since you ask, my partner doesn't care what I do with it but personally I like it smooth so there you go.

@Earthsight. It's a personal choice isn't it? Some of us like to keep hairless down there it's got nothing to do with porn. I quite like to keep my fanny barbie like for ME !!!! As opposed to what you refer to as a porn soaked man whatever the fuck one of those is. May I suggest you go give ya fanny a good trim to stop the hair's poking out of the chastity belt you've been wearing since the dawn of time .
Myturnatlast · 14/02/2022 09:21

Back to report it didn't work AT ALL!

Waste of money, I'm going back to my tried & trusted razor...

Bore off ffs, what is it to you what someone else does with their body hair?
tuesdayisthebestday · 15/02/2022 15:25

I love to be completely smooth too - for ME, fuck all to do with my partner! - but using a razor regularly gives me terrible rashes. My method is to veet everything on the outside then do the inner bits with a sharp razor and lots of shampoo, before using palmers cocoa moisturiser on the outer but. I do mine every couple of days, when it is really short the very struggles to work but generally it is the best way I've found. Not cheap though, I spend a fortune on veet 😂
