Pubic Hair

With so much talk and discussion out there regarding pubes, it is hard to know what is generally accepted as being the norm these days. I am nearly 50 and have a full bush - what are other peoples ages and are they smooth, trimmed, or full-bush? Would be interested to know if this is a generational thing?

Wife 62 I am 57 both totally smooth have been forever

HairyandLairy · 18/01/2022 19:33

Erm, a question for those of you who are smooth... how to you remove the hair from your undercarriage bits? I can manage the front and sides with shaving or cream but how on earth am I supposed to get the hairs from the inside edge bits? Blush

Tranquilitybasehotelandcasino · 18/01/2022 20:01

Personally I just shave and leave a landing strip. I worked as a carer many years ago and wrinkly fannies and scrotums aren’t the prettiest things, but slightly better with a covering of foliage. As much as I’d prefer to not have the hassle of shaving, lasering it off and having it bald when I’m in my golden years isn’t for me.

Shunter350 · 19/01/2022 05:04

@Tranquilitybasehotelandcasino makes an excellent point and one I had wondered about.. Grinanyway to turn the discussion around... what are the lady's views on men shaving "down below"?

Jumpking · 19/01/2022 20:57

Discussed this with girlfriends in a hot tub. We ended up showing each other our bits! One was bald, and she loves it. One was landing strip, and she loves it. Mine is tidy, and I love it.

For me, I like feeling like a woman. I think of a bald vagina as prepubescent. A ONS was shocked I had pubic hair, then even had the gall to tell me I needed to tidy it up a bit more. Told him what I thought of his opinion!

As long as you're comfy with what you've got, enjoy it!

togethelpptsd · 19/01/2022 21:02

25 and usually have a Brazilian wax, leaving a small triangle/landing strip as I don’t like to be completely bare. However since having a baby my grooming routine has pretty much stopped but DP doesn’t seem to mind!

LipstickOnYourCollar5 · 19/01/2022 21:14

I don’t think anyone should do something to keep another person happy, if you want a full bush then have one, if you want to wax it all off then do it. I used to shave but now have some growth which is trimmed and I’m leaving it like that. There’s also reasons why pubic hair exists.

I shave Mrs F and she shaves me
We then zap with an IPL machine there is nothing but a few hairs to shave these days as the IPL has worked well for us

Curlyreine · 19/01/2022 23:03

What is an IPL?

Personally, I've been with men who have and haven't shaved and it doesn't bother me. If us women can do it, why can't men?

Okbye · 20/01/2022 22:23

Mid thirties and bare except triangle at the front 😁

I used to get monthly Brazilian waxes but treated myself to a Philips Lumea IPL and it was a total game changer for me! It's taken the best part of 10 months use to really slow/thin the growth of hair underneath (bikini line was much faster to stop growing). Hair underneath now is sparse and slow growing - and yes I zap it ALL underneath front and back.

Highly recommended for those interested! 👍

Check out Phillips lumina machines Work great on dark hair no good on blond or I think ginger
PaperMonster · 21/01/2022 07:07

@Shunter350 I generally prefer a man with hair intact, but my Muslim boyfriend shaved and I did enjoy the friction that caused.

StarlightLady · 21/01/2022 08:41

@Jumpking - About your pre-pubescent comment. I assume that you retain your underarm hair and never epilate anywhere else on your body then?

I’m a curvey early 40s woman, who pts to remove her pubic hair. I wear a 36F bra, my body shape does not resemble that of a child. My vulva does not resemble that of a child.

Do men who shave their faces all look like boys?

Jumpking · 21/01/2022 08:52

Sheesh lady. No need for you to seemingly take offense at what I think.

My body, my hair, my thoughts.

You crack on the way you're comfortable and I'll do the same here thanks.

I prefer a man to have hair down there is more manly to me . I however take it all off front and back .

TheBrollies · 21/01/2022 17:28

My DH shaved it all of one and I liked the way it looked but I hated the way it felt growing back. I don’t really mind the hair on him though so I have never suggested he shave it again. I know he really prefers me hairless so I had IPL done so now don’t have to worry about waxing any more!

freeatlast2021 · 21/01/2022 21:27

@Dustyplumber

51 and wax the edges and trim. My bush is a feminist statement!
Agreed! Same here.

51 and only trim it every once in a while. I am surprised to see how many women of my age have it all off, I also thought it is a new thing as my daughters tell me that is "expected" nowadays, which makes me really mad.

I have to say that I would never have it waxed, even thinking about it gives me goose bumps. The most I have waxed was a bikini line and even that hurt like hell. I do not like the feeling when they start growing back at all. Also, I must say that shaving it all of just has a very wrong feel to it. The idea that men like it with no hair feels perverted to me, no offense.

crestar · 22/01/2022 12:24

Much prefer a full bush as who wants - don't want something that looks like a little girl.

A full bush is 'womanly' in my opinion but each to their own.

This old chestnut.

If pubic hair is what stops you from looking like a pre-pubescent child, then you really should see a doctor.

meemaww · 22/01/2022 18:48

I think mines gone all Status Quo…… sort of bald in the middle but growing like a b*tch everywhere else! 😬😳🤣

bigdinkydoodah · 23/01/2022 12:57

I prefer no bush as I like the way it feels and husband likes no bush too. However, lately I haven't shaved so it's full at the moment. I like OH to be bald too I love the feeling during sex.

This may or not help, but in my view a good bush, gives good look for the area, I know it's not everyone's preference.
EarthSight · 06/02/2022 18:21

Aren't the women here bothered by how porn influenced men are? Why on earth would a man want to want to have sex with a woman who looks like a little girl??? Bleurgh!!

crosbystillsandmash · 06/02/2022 18:31

@EarthSight
This is such a tedious comment/argument and is predictably trotted out every time there is a discussion about pubic hair.

If you look like a child if you remove your pubes, you might need to see a dr? It sounds like you've never been through puberty and still have a child's body?

I've got tits, hips and an adult females face. I also have given birth vaginally twice, so definitely not child like down there!
