Before I buy a wand...

Can anyone tell me what you do with them, when using it as a couple?
I've heard fabulous things, but I don't want it for solo play, so would like to know how to use it together.
We do have other toys, and one particular firm favourite which we use regularly, so I'd just like to know how the wand might measure up and if it's what we are look go for.
