To ask what you do with lube hands?

Question which has been bugging me for many years. You're getting down to dtd...decide to use lube...put said lube on your hands and distribute as needed. Great, time to get down to business...except now hands are wet and sticky. Do I pause proceedings to go and get a towel? Wipe on the bed sheets? Wipe on dh? There must be a better way.....

In 29 years of marriage I've never use lub Confused

ILoveMyDressingGown · 09/07/2018 08:54

Just get a piece of scrunched up tissue and use that to wipe it off.
Also, how much are you using to get it all over your hands? Just a tiny blob on the end of a finger is enough, surely?

gabsdot · 09/07/2018 08:56

I have a box of tissues on my bedside table for all sex clean up needs. I refuse to even get started unless there is tissue.

EdmundCleverClogs · 09/07/2018 08:56

I was genuinely wondering as we're ttc and using fertility friendly lube which I'm not used to and I didn't quite realise how messy it would be!

But you said in your original op that you’ve been wondering about this for ‘years’. If you’re the same poster of course, your writing style suddenly changed.

Sex towel or wet wipes (sex wipes) Grin ?

emwithme · 09/07/2018 09:04

Towels in our house are colour coded...dark blue for us, teal in the "guest room " (aka for MIL when she visits...they're actually nicer than all the others put together), green for cat drying and red for bedroom use. There's more than one and it gets used once and washed! Most of the towels live in the linen cabinet when not in use but sex towels are kept in DH's bottom bedside drawer (along with the lube etc).

(Oh, and a really tatty old "used to be white 20 years ago but you can't tell that any more" for hair dying, plus assorted beach/pool towels)

AngelicDarkness · 09/07/2018 09:05

I feel I'm missing out on key pre/post sex etiquette. I have neither beaker nor towel nor tissue.

lubeconfused · 09/07/2018 09:07

@EdmundCleverClogs you are correct you busted me...I wrote a quick casual light hearted message this morning without thinking through in great detail. I have indeed used lube in the past and wondered this - but now having started ttc again the issue arose again last night and hence my post this morning! I was mearly wondering how other people dealt with it. Not trying to dupe the whole of mumsnet with my lies 🤣

The sex towel! I'm never organised enough to have the sex towel next to me from the beginning. It's a mad dash around at the end 😂

Bobbiepin · 09/07/2018 09:09

@gabsdot we're exactly the same.

Mummyoflittledragon · 09/07/2018 09:12

dip them in the beaker Grin Grin

DawnMumsnet · 09/07/2018 09:37

Hi OP,

Hope you don't mind but we're going to move this thread over to the Sex topic so it doesn't put people off their cornflakes this early on a Monday morning.

In case anyone was wondering - yes, the OP's been around for years and, as she's said above, we have absolutely no reason to think she's trying to dupe the whole of Mumsnet with her lies. Grin

Just musing: we've got

...athlete's foot
...tennis elbow (topical at least)
...housemaid's knee (nothing like sharing the chores)
and now
...lube hands
anyone got any other suggestions?

NotTheFordType · 10/07/2018 07:39

I'll add "Hooker's jaw" to that list without even thinking about it

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 28/08/2018 19:04

Rub it on your nipples 🤷🏻‍♀️
