Period sex

Gross, yay or nay?

I can't fathom the idea without feeling totally unsexy (hang on whilst I whip my tampon out and you get a bloodstained nob, boak.)

Even that brown staining at the end of a period is a no go. He gets no action from day about 7-23 (just incase it comes early).

Am I missing something?!

I used to in my younger days, flow was lighter then. It's horrendous now with lovely clots to boot, nasty cramps and javelin arse so I don't feel like it so all.

PankyE · 12/08/2018 02:39

We have absolutely no issue about ps and treat it as any other sexy time! Instead of the usual white coloured cm, it's raspberry!
Also for some reason, dp likes going down on me also. Great for me because it's clears up my cramps!
I think he's secretly a vampire...
Another plus is that my period ends quicker. TMI clears the old pipes ahem Grin

Interesting to read this OP. I’ve posted elsewhere about a lack of sex with DW. We have done this before (before kids) at various times in her period and I have no problem with it, DW not so keen unfortunately.
But now, as she’s starting to approach the menopause her periods are getting more erratic and longer which, as you say, knocks out half the month. I thought this was odd but you seem to have matched the numbers exactly.
Trouble is that with everything else that may prevent DTD during the rest of the month (mainly the young family) it’s been quite a dry patch for some time.

Anon90 · 12/08/2018 13:49

Love it and so does he. Normal sex activities the whole way through here.

extraketchup · 12/08/2018 21:02

Really anon what's loveable about the thing he pisses out of entering you as you're bleeding???

goldopals · 13/08/2018 14:27

I like having sex on my period. DH doesn't mind the mess; we put a couple of towels on the bed and it's okay.

NameChangerella · 15/08/2018 00:48

To those who use beppy tampons... I tried these the other but DH said they felt scratchy so we had to stop. Any advice?

MoreProsecco · 15/08/2018 17:02

On the pill & in my 30's: fine, as had very light periods.

Mid-40's: Christ, no! It's like a bloodbath for the first few days (soaking through heavy flow tampons in an hour). Plus periods can be 14-18 days apart, so you never recover from one before another starts. Horrible.

Anon90 · 15/08/2018 18:20

He likes blood. Literally nothing bothers him that way. Im not a heavy bleeder usually. Id say im in the middle somewhere. So theres only a bit to see for him.

I only ever see a bit of blood at the end. I love it because its more sensitive and it eases pains that other methods dont. Like scratching an itch you cant reach.

ineedtostopbeingsolazy · 15/08/2018 22:03

We sometimes do have sex when I've got my period. Not on my heaviest days because I feel like shit, but on lighter days we would put a towel underneath us. It doesn't put him off and it doesn't bother me.

Even if it did come early op do you start with a huge gush mine starts with some staining first so his knob wouldn't be soaked with blood. Bit strange you won't have sex just in case it starts early. What if you randomly start a week early? How early is early?

extraketchup · 16/08/2018 07:43

Anon "he likes blood" Confused

AngelsAckiz · 16/08/2018 11:26

My DP does oral while I'm on. I was a bit wary at first but he really loves doing it (the oral!) And I love getting it, so I let him crack on! The orgasm is always more intense and clears up my cramps. No fingers though.

We have a folded sheet we put down especially for shark week to catch any mess.

He is a diamond all round.

extraketchup · 16/08/2018 12:42

Angels sorry but I don't get how he'd like to put his tongue there but not fingers? Surely the former is way more invasive especially with blood.

Anon90 · 16/08/2018 15:46

Yes ketchup, people like different things. Im not sure why you are so shocked by my comments. I'm not the only one on the thread who has said i enjoy it. Others have even mentioned oral (also lovely but i wasnt going to bring that up).

My BF is generally not bothered by anything at all. This is one of my favourite things about him.

Ive never had to feel self concious because nothing puts him off me in any way. It also helps me feel a great deal better. It eases the pain, i get horrible aches inside me around my cervix. It improves my mood. His work rota clashes this month and ive been on for three days and i feel vile. I had a shower an hour ago, washed and conditioned and dried my hair, got into some freshly dried soft clothes, and ive just had soft boiled eggs. I feel VILE and greasy already. I want to rip my uterus out.

I will say, ive been with men that ive hated PS with. My cycle greatly influences the kind of sex i want and requires a really well matched libido and matching preferences in bed. The kind of pains i get in my cervix are eased a different way to the ones in my stomach. (different positions etc). I never held this against them and was happy to just have a hot water bottle and some paracetamol. But honestly, for me, done right, i dont think its difficult to see why id enjoy it when it makes me feel so much better when otherwise its pretty crap for me.

I appreciate this is not for every woman but honestly for those of us who do enjoy it there are lots of positives.

Notadrill · 16/08/2018 23:22

@TulipsInaJag Leave the mooncup in! Has worked for me

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 17/08/2018 15:06

We used to have a special set of bed linen for period sex. It was called the Night of a Thousand Virgins, and the capitals were mandatory.

PankyE · 17/08/2018 15:25

Extraketchup: he will use fingers sometimes but it tends to be more messy if he does. It's just his preference I guess.

Gates · 25/08/2018 22:54

Depends on the flow in all honesty. Dont rule it out completely.

RatRolyPoly · 26/08/2018 21:34

Honestly, i wouldn't be with a man who wasn't into it.

I guess this is the same for lots of us, but things feel different at different points in my cycle. I guess that's down to the changing location of the cervix. Period sex definitely feels different to me. Good different! But perhaps that's just the way I'm built.

WaterOffaDucksCrack · 28/08/2018 21:27

I never did before meeting my current partner. I never felt comfortable enough with anyone before! We've done loads of things neither of us have done before though!

Aaaahfuck · 28/08/2018 23:21

I always feel like I'm some kind of prude for not liking period sex. I have painful heavy and clotty periods. So maybe that's why I don't like it. Changing my tampon can be a bit of a blood bath let alone sex.

I sometimes get cramps triggered from changing my tampon can't imagine a penis up there would help. Also we do a lot of non penetrative stuff using hands would be so bloody and I just can't imagine oral sex with period clots.

I'm really feminist in my views so for me it's not about period being gross because it's something that women have. I wouldn't want to give my male partner bloody oral.

I do get horny towards the end if my period but like the waiting for a day or two then having post period sex. Those of you who manage and enjoy it good for you. Grin

SkinnywannabeKBH · 29/08/2018 22:36

Definite no from me, due to horrendously heavy clotty periods. It's like a murder scene from day 1 - day 5 for me unfortunately so not at all sexy.

Bbub · 30/08/2018 07:12

The beppy tampons look really good, would love to hear more details about them!

teacherspets · 30/08/2018 07:30

Huge no. Coating him in blood however heavy is just grim.

needyourlovingtouch · 30/08/2018 18:18

A no from me. What about when he is manually stimulating you before? There must be so much blood.

People must have good stained removers!
