Toastyteacakes · 10/07/2017 21:04

Hello !
This is my first time posting here but have been lurking on Mumsnet for a few months now as I love the advice that you can get about almost anything !
I am a 20 year old female and I am planning on losing my virginity soon and would really appreciate some advice on how to prepare , what to expect and how to ensure I have a good first experience.
Thank you in advance Smile

I love a penis but no way will I have fingers inside me, so yeah that doesn't apply to everyone! Stretching myself with DPs dick was a far nicer idea than stretching with fingers when I lost my virginity.

I don't get all these comments about the first time not being good

Could it be because...revelation...not everyone had the same experience as you?!

My first experience was horrific, I was too shy and ignorant to u detstand about lubrication, my boyfriend was selfish, we both believed the myth about hymens needing to be broken, result = serious tearing of internal membranes, blood EVERYWHERE, me in huge pain for days, and totally humiliated. Forgive me for wanting to help other women avoid that.

I get that, but pp have told her it will be awful as though everyone's first times are, when that's simply not true.

If you really, absolutely don't want to get pregnant, always use a condom even of you're on birth control. Trust me.

GinaFordCortina · 16/07/2017 12:06

Hey op did it happen? nosy

The best threads on here always come with a diagram :)

I can barely take three and I've had two kids vaginally.

OP it will probably be sore. I was 17 and he just kept on trying (same session I mean). The third time he put it in, it worked and it's been fine ever since.

PaintingOwls · 20/07/2017 10:51

Honestly? Get yourself a rabbit and have a few goes on that before you go near the real thing. And then lots of foreplay first, and lube.

IfNot · 20/07/2017 11:00

Don't get lube! Christ if you are not getting naturally lubricated at 20 years old then don't have piv sex! Intercourse should
happen when you are very turned on.
I have never used lube or allowed 3 fingers inside me. If you are not ready then more foreplay and waiting is fine. My first time did not hurt at all.
There are many many enjoyable things you can do in bed that don't involve penetration.

Get to know what YOU like first. You are not a hole to be filled, your enjoyment is paramount.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 20/07/2017 11:06

I agree about lube. It's mentioned a lot on MN, I've often wondered if there are lots of women using it because they aren't getting enough foreplay.

Renarde75 · 20/07/2017 11:20

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Agreed.

I disagree - it can depend on where you are in your cycle. When I am about to get my period my fanny is dry as a bone, regardless of how horny I am.

OP also said she'll be using condoms, they are already lubricated but you eventually need a top up.

KanyeWesticle · 20/07/2017 14:23

Natural lubrication varies by individual woman, by cycle, by age, etc etc... there are so many factors. It's not just a case of needing lube = not being turned on.

We used lube for my first time and I'm glad. It meant I wasn't nervous about not being wet enough, and was able to let go and enjoy (probably meant more natural juices too!)

Renarde75 · 21/07/2017 13:43

Imma gonna dispute this

there are so many factors. It's not just a case of needing lube = not being turned on.

It's certainly not true for me. But it is true to say that the more I am turned on the wetter I get.

Utter nonsense!
I have never produced much natural lubrication and what I do produce dries up very quickly.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with using lube. I find it turns me on even more as the slippery feel is lovely.
I have no difficulty at all in getting very turned on but lube has always been really important to me.

GinaFordCortina
Yes it did ! It was a pretty good first experience . It took a couple of goes to get it in and it was very painful Blush there was also quite a bit of blood and I am still bleeding a little a couple of days later but that should stop soon hopefully. However I felt very loved and cared for and have no regrets at all
