Sex on Holiday

I'm pretty sure there's no solution to this but going on holiday for 2 weeks. For most of it we will be in one room. My children are 10 and 13. We are going to have to be celibate for the whole time, innit??

There's no way we could use the bathroom or take a risk and gamble they are asleep. It's not a resort style holiday and so they won't be in clubs during the day. It's to NY and other cities like that, so I won't be sending them off on their own.

Is there an obvious solution I am missing?

Please don't shag in the bedroom when they are there - my parents used to do this on holiday when I was in the room with them, and I was frequently woken up by drunken, noisy and enthusiastic sex. I remember once, aged 10, having no idea what was going on, sitting up and asking them if they were alright...

Can you drop the kids at a museum to do a children's workshop thing for a couple of hours?

Face facts now; the 13 year old at least will be awake after you're asleep. Just set off with the knowledge that nothing will happen.

Just go without. is it essential?

Does the hotel have a pool? Maybe they will go off for a swim one or two afternoons.

Two weeks isn't long. Make up for it on your return.

Def showers-( music on phones!) We have lots of couples weekends away in fancy hotels to compensate for sex free camping with the kids!! 2 weeks without??? No way!!

Jesus Christ I think I made it pretty clear in my post i wouldn't be doing it in front of the kids, whether I thought they were asleep or not. I excluded bathroom or when they were asleep (because I thought someone might suggest it and because I am not a massive pervert and pretty sure the environment wouldn't lend itself to desire for sex anyway). However, it would be nice to have some intimate time & I was wondering if anyone had been in a similar situation and got it sussed!

Balcony suggestion is hilarious! Not sure they have them on the twelfth millionth floor of a new yorkean hotel but if they did, am sure it would be a treat for next doors.

I think you could do it very very quietly first thing in the morning if you wanted

We had a night with kids recently & Dh got his first start to finish handjob in 20 yrs . I got my turn after.
We were giggling for the day!!

Go and do it somewhere else. They can organise themselves with clubs and activities. Am sure you can get a bit of time somewhere.

The shower can work surely for a quickie ?

It's New York , your feet will be aching so much from all the walking you won't be bothered about any other extremities ......although they are old enough to be sent down to the lobby to get coffee and pastries in the morning for you all....... If you are quick 😉

Justdonteven. What sort of clubs are you imagining in Manhattan?

We used Residence Inn on a girls NYC trip. It was fab , loads of space , two bedrooms, lounge with decent sofa bed and two bathrooms. Free breakfast too so the most the kitchen got used for was coffee though.

Our hotel in New York had a huge bathroom with a sunken circular jacuzzi bath that 6 could have fitted in comfortably, a vast power shower and a dressing area. It all came as a bit of a surprise. You might be lucky

We are in France at the moment with Ds [20 months]. We are staying in a property owned by friends of PIL- who also stay here at the end of every summer. DH and I don't use the master bedroom because of the thought of us having sex in the bed PIL will be sleeping in soon and have probably had sex in themselves. We sleep in the other double room. The thought is just there in our heads.
I hate the thought of a holiday without sex. When FIL was poorly we took PIL to a cottage in Scotland for a fortnight. When we arrived, the two double bedrooms (DH booked it) turned out to be one double bedroom and a tiny room with bunkbeds. PIL had to have the double bed so DH and I had these child sized bunkbeds-narrow, rickety and very uncomfortable. No sex for a fortnight. Very little sleep either they were so uncomfortable.There was not enough room to put the mattresses on the floor. It was very hot but if we opened the window huge moths came in and I was in the top bunk and I was terrified. I slept on the sofa downstairs most nights to get some sleep. Never been so glad to get home to my own bed.

We won't be in NY for the whole 2 weeks, but the other places will be similar and same sort of all in one room set up. It's all booked already. Maybe we could do it in a restaurant toilet? Kidding!! Honestly!

The hotel does have a pool but it looks like it is geared towards serious swimming rather than families messing about in it. I could send them there if at all possible.

The two weeks will seem like a month, as you know you can't & won't obviously in front of them. I think booking them into the kids club, a few times would be the best bet. Like all things, knowing you can't will make you want it all the more! Good luck OP

I can barely fit me in a standard aeroplane loo, never mind dp. God knows how anyone manages to join the mile high club these days..!
