Sick of condoms!

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to get people's thoughts really....my husband and I have been married for 2 years, together for 14. We have only ever used condoms, I have never been on the pill for various reasons but mostly because my mum has had cancer a number of times. We have both said we would like the first time without a condom to be if we ever try for a baby. Just getting so sick of using them especially now we are married.

Is that ridiculous or does anyone else feel the same way?

I think the vast majority of people don't like them. Think you can have fun exploring all the glorious non PIV sex you can have & save the condoms for that all maybe explore the other contraceptive options that are avaliable. Good luck OP

Yeah try 69ing, mutual masturbation or reciprocal oral instead before you are ready to TTC.

Condoms are often a necessity but are def known to "get in the way" somewhat. Personally I don't mind them but I think the men find condoms more of a dampener.

We used them for 10 years,cant say it made much difference when dh got the snip tbh.

Have you considered a coil or other alternative instead?

I hate them. I've had 3 kids but I'm getting the coil next week for the first time. DH is hopefully going to get the snip too. Condoms do make things less messy though which worries me slightly.

But, on a plus side....no damp patch

Coil all the way. I've had mine for 14 years now (can't take the pill due to epilepsy medication reducing effectiveness) and I have never looked back. Never had a pregnancy scare despite plenty of sex I hate having it changed but 2-3 minutes of pain and a tummy ache for an hour or two once every five years is a small price to pay. Plus.....no periods!
