So, when I have an orgasm...

... I see colours, patterns and shapes. Having never spoken about this to anybody before, I assumed it was a completely normal part of the experience.

I mentioned it to my DH in bed the after night (after a particularly vibrant orgasm in purples and silver, in the shape of leaves) and he tells me that he has no idea what I'm talking about. I assume it's a woman thing, so I ask my sister, and.... nope. Definitely not. Just me.

Is there anyone else out there that has this?? It's different every time... the first time I ever had an orgasm it was literally like seeing the night sky, like being catapulted into the stars, it was amazing! Sometimes I see waves in green and blue, sometimes it's white or yellow and very intense - this all seemed SO normal to me up until right now!!

Is there anybody out there who can make me feel less weird about this?? Feeling like a total nutter.

More 'worldly'

Wailywailywaily · 17/07/2015 13:16

i have always described it as fireworks. Maybe it's not quite the same as I just see a mess of colours no shapes or pictures.

I don't see colours but I do black out and lose all sense of sound and vision. Apparently I can be quite loud when this happens Blush I'm not in control or aware of it at all.

And yes I also had a similar experience during labour and also there made noises I'd never made before or since and was only vaguely aware I was doing it - very strange.

It is exactly like going to another place. Sometimes it takes me a while to get reorientated afterwards and often I feel a little bit seasick.

I get something similar to this although usually I get like a sort of white sheet across my vision (rather than colours or darkening as others have described) and I also get the loss of hearing - to me it's like the same thing as when you put your head under water: all the sounds are muffled and distorted and you can hear your heart beating in your eardrums.

I have also had random visions of things but like a dream, I can't remember any clearly now.

It doesn't happen every time. I think it's when the build up has been particularly long.

Not only is this fascinating reading but I'm immensely chuffed that there are plenty of us out there enjoying orgasms!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/07/2015 16:59

I thought everyone did!

WallyBantersJunkBox · 20/07/2015 08:38

Really sadly not Dame

chelle792 · 23/07/2015 10:03

grundy not my face but I get pins and needles in my feet!!

I sometimes get 'weird eyes'. Just like flashing, really

ovumahead · 23/07/2015 18:49

Yes I get this! Different images and colours every time. Hubby thinks I'm nuts too
It's all part of the pleasure tho. It's never worried me
I'm not synaesthetic generally
I do get migraines tho, wonder if there's a connection there?
