For example if you fail the 10+ do the 11+?

They seem to have had some technical issue with during one of the 10+ assessments. Now seems like everyone is getting invited for the interview. Has anyone not got an invite? We haven't heard back yet.

AD1115 · 12/12/2024 11:12

Yes we have received an email yesterday morning affirming an interview for my DS

Has anyone who sat 10+ heard back?

Did you hear back?

Interesting. Is that the general experience- everyone from round 1 at the CLS 10+ has been invited back?

LdnPrts · 02/01/2025 09:26

Same question for 11+ ... has anyone not been invited back ? Did not see those 100s of applicants on the day of the exam.

Hatcher · 02/01/2025 10:03

@LdnPrts I know several who didn't make it to the second round, just from one school. City had at least two sittings.

Parent2024 · 09/01/2025 09:52

How did the interviews for 10+ go yesterday?

ForTealMaker · 14/01/2025 19:49

It seemed that 10+ interviews were non academic at all. Very hard to judge. Any other opinions?

vjceqgub · 24/01/2025 13:33

My DS had the second assessment in CLS 11 plus today.

It seemed 20 boys per session, which means
20 boys x 4 sessions? x 5 days = 400 boys were invited. (Sorry, I forgot the number of time slots we could choose, but maybe 4?)

I was so surprised because I had expected much less number.
Does someone have any insight into it?

Have a look at this thread which debates interview and offer figures this year. In short schools are likely to be increasing offers/ waiting list offers and possibly interview numbers due to greater uncertainty around acceptances thanks to the VAT issue (ie more may decide to take up a state school place).

That said, when I’ve tried to calculate numbers of eg interview candidates based on number of sessions x candidates per session I’ve often been wrong!

Were there 5 days of second round assessments? And only 4 sessions a day? And only 20 boys at each of these sessions? That seems like quite a drawn out period and very different from what I’ve heard about earlier years (when there was only one second round assessment day). But perhaps things have changed, and it's less disruptive to the school to only have a few boys in at a time.

@Jackal313 @ICouldBeVioletSky
Thank you for your insights. Anyway, there's nothing we can do anymore... Keep fingers crossed, and best of luck for everyone.

Congratulations @Parent2024 !!! Amazing achievement. It is an amazing school. Here is to more good news for all those here waiting.

CauldronBubble · 27/01/2025 21:04

Congratulations @Parent2024 - hope your DS is very excited.

Out of interest did City tell you when to expect the results? We got told about the exam outcome a week earlier than expected - wondering if the same might happen with the interviews.

City emailed 27th January as the date for the final outcome communication, so they will likely stick to that date for 11+. All the best

Agree. They say they'll email "on Friday, 14 Feb", not "by Friday". Good luck to everyone.

CauldronBubble · 10/02/2025 11:25

Thank you so much. Quite stressful waiting!

Do you know if they give feedback to unsuccessful candidates?

Good luck to everyone.

CauldronBubble · 10/02/2025 16:24

Apologies - an acquaintance just told me that City was being relocated into a nearby office block for renovation work in the main school. I hadn’t heard that, has anyone else? Supposedly came from someone with a 10+ offer so I wondered if it was just about the OG year?

No feedback was given last year at 10 plus where DS didn't get an offer from CLS. Good luck to everyone.

Hi there,
I understand that last year, 10+ boys had their first year at the junior school but this year, we have been told that they would be starting at the main school.

Due to the renovation work, that might be correct.

Parent2024 · 20/02/2025 20:05

Just checking - are there parents in this group who are finalising City of London as the school for 10+ and 11+? Wanted to check if we could create a small Whatsapp group to remain connected?
