An opportunity for parents of DC applying to private and grammar schools in SW London for entry in year 7 in 2023 to share their journeys.

I am curious too. We are not until 2:30pm. When are you? I am also curious if they are friendly.

Hope not or at least they duplicate it via email. That would be very silly if it's only by post knowing what is going on nowadays with the RM.

I had a feeling that LEH would be today but nothing in the post. I'm sure I recall hearing somewhere that they sent them late in the day on a Friday previously. I agree the wait seems forever.

In case of interest, I asked Emanuel for feedback on DS exam performance (he didn't get shortlisted for second round) and they were very helpful. The pass mark for English and Math was 65% and a score of 115+ for VR.

The lady didn't give me the actual scores but indicated that he comfortably passed Maths and VR, with Maths being his strongest performance. The strange thing for us is that English (his best subject) was where he slipped up. Not that it changes anything, but an interesting insight and I'm happy he did well in the other papers, which softens the blow!

@NellyCortado Thanks for the feedback. That is very interesting and kind she gave feedback to you. I am very curious on this type of information. I wonder if they tell you this sort of information if you ask if you passed. If you comfortably passed or just passed. I wish they just gave you the scores for each test, as I want to know and of course so does my dd.

@NellyCortado Thanks for sharing. Very generous of the school to have given you the information. I believe that LU have done the same this year when asked. Did they happen to say how many they were interviewing?

Do you mean Emanuel or LU? If Emanuel, they have publicly said that they are interviewing 2/3 of the applicants.
If LU, I have heard 400 but do not know the source (we did not apply), so others might be best placed to comment on numbers and source.

@QuiteAJourney Ah yes I didn't know if that would change if they were going against a particular pass mark.

I think that it works the other way - they aim to interview 2/3 and adjust the pass mark accordingly

LU interviewed 440 out of 1400, if memory serves me correctly (people posted the stats on here, which the school had given them).

@LondonMum20222 thanks for the correction. I recalled the exchanges but not so well the precise number (and, at this point, 10 pc more or less matters)

@VickiMent - thank you, I wasn't at all familiar with Hammersmith in my school days and am not much more so now decades later!

We are waiting on LEH too. The postman didn’t come today, so waiting in hope for an email. Just like to know either way.

so many girls at G&L this afternoon!! looks like it said up to room 19.
Not sure if teachers were interviewing girls after girls or add a 15 min break in between 2.

LEH is a no for us unfortunately. It was her favourite school, a bit aspirational but she was prepared to do her best. Not the end of the world so moving on and waiting on others.

Does anyone know how many they take through to interview v number that sat v offers?

Not sure but if any of the other schools are a guide.. a lot. Fingers crossed we get at least something from somewhere!

Are the LEH interviews of “general nature” or did someone receive an interview call for “academic interview” (for academic scholarship)?

We also got an LEH interview. From experience they were of a mostly general nature but I'll see if I can remember anything else. Previously there was no call for an academic interview/scholarship interview but that may have changed. Congrats all!
