5min walk in y7 than we moved and it was a 35min bus ride plus 10min walk from bus stop to school. 20min if coming home late. It was only 2.8 miles but inner London so hellish traffic and I was far too lazy.

Mine was 12 miles via school bus.

Rural school so most kids were bussed in. Obviously, this made afterschool clubs difficult, so we had a long school day (finishing at 4.30!) but a long lunch time (1 hour 40 minutes) so extra curricular ran at lunchtome.

About 20 minutes by bus.
I was a day girl at a private school. Some of my classmates lived in places like Papua New Guinea and would be travelling 24 hours to get home at the end of term.

2 buses away but only 3 miles. Used to take about 40 minutes. My mum and dad didn't want me going to the local schools and the journey wasn't too bad...

Between a mile/ mile and a half depending on if the shortcut was usable that day. Never took me longer than 25 minutes to get there. Unless I stopped to fuss local dogs and cats.

First school was 0.5 miles. About 10 minute walk. After one year I changed to a school 5 miles away. Was about 20 minutes on the school bus.

About 5 miles. A school in North Wales so it was a large catchment area.

I now live in the South West of England and my dcs school is 3 miles as the crow flies. Some old primary parents seemed to think it was outrageous that I'd picked this school because every normal child must be able to walk to school. Apparently 🙄

30 min walk. Same as my children, except my children have to walk uphill on the way there

10 miles - 20 min walk then a 30-45 min bus ride.

Nearest schools were sink schools at the time.

About a 20 minute walk. It was the closest to our home, the only other one here would have taken a good hour to walk to.
