3 miles away in London. I took the tube or bus plus a long walk. It took about 45 minutes.

Just over 5 miles, no school bus but free bus pass.

Took 2 buses and over an hour to get there. I hated it. Was chosen due to my parents' religion.

In comparison my DCs secondary is just over a mile away.

I had a 15 minute walk as it was about a mile away but with a hill in the middle.

By comparison it would take DS 90 minutes to walk to his hgh school and DD's walk would be 5 and a half hours!

Not far, I could walk there. That wasn't the reason the school was chosen for me but it was something of a bonus.

Same as you, Megz- about 15 minutes walk.i used to call for a friend on the way, and if there was time, go in for a cup of tea.

12 miles, about 30-40 mins by car + tube. Hated the journey, despite being in the "train gang". DD is now going 11 miles by school coach and I'm reliving it all again!

I was a boarder, so no minutes walk. A 50 min drive to my Mum’s house, though.

1 mile. 5-10 mins in the car, 20 minutes running or 30 minutes walking slowly with my friend and chatting.

Ds1 and ds2's school is 2 miles away.

About a 20 minute walk. It was the closest to our home, the only other one here would have taken a good hour to walk to.

10 miles - 20 min walk then a 30-45 min bus ride.

Nearest schools were sink schools at the time.

30 min walk. Same as my children, except my children have to walk uphill on the way there

About 5 miles. A school in North Wales so it was a large catchment area.

I now live in the South West of England and my dcs school is 3 miles as the crow flies. Some old primary parents seemed to think it was outrageous that I'd picked this school because every normal child must be able to walk to school. Apparently 🙄

First school was 0.5 miles. About 10 minute walk. After one year I changed to a school 5 miles away. Was about 20 minutes on the school bus.

I don't know how many miles but 15 min brisk walk to station, 20 mins on train, 10 to 15 mins walk at other end. Left house at 7.50, arrived school at 8.45.

Between a mile/ mile and a half depending on if the shortcut was usable that day. Never took me longer than 25 minutes to get there. Unless I stopped to fuss local dogs and cats.

5 miles, about 30 mins on the bus with the various stops.
We live 1.4 miles from a secondary school now.
