I think pup is hiding his nerves very well!

I won't hear from DS until late afternoon so any feedback on AQA English Language would be much appreciated.......

I also hope that those that need that 4/5 do well today.

DD's view of English Language revision was 'It'll be fine, you can't revise it anyway.'

We gave Music CIE paper tomorrow. My God it is demanding. DS has done more preparation for it than almost any subject with the exception of History maybe.

I'm laughing at all the comment regarding exam feedback - think I have experienced every one of them!

AlexanderHamilton and AChickenCalledKorma ds is also doing music - I have no idea what marks he got for performance and composition but he ought to do well a he has Grade 8 with a Distinction on one instrument and is prepping Grade 8 on a second. Composition I hope also played to his strengths - he did a 'jazz waltz' in the one to a brief. Like you both, i have had no input into the set works despite asking over and over....though I notice for the last 2 nights he has been playing them on a loop!

Just had a text back in record time, ds pleased with English Lang - happy with the extract they had to analyse. Don't know about the creative writing (since text about 5 words long only....

That's AQA Sost. Trying hard not to do the 'grade boundary leap...'

Apparently English went "really, really well". I told her that I hope she used more descriptive language than that!

Hmm still half an hour to go here. 2 hours 30 mins plus extra time !! Its a long time to keep things crossed.

Unfortunately, that is DS's view too.
I managed to persuade him last week to spend a few hours on it. It went horribly. His reaction was to revert to doing nothing and reassuring me that come the exam he'll just put down anything, it doesn't have to be true, just soundsvthoughtful and uses the buzz words. He says this is what he does in class.
Somehow, I don't think we are looking at a top grade. I'll settle for a 5

I'm parked, waiting for DS near the school at the moment. Just this once, I said I'd give him a lift home so he can revise for this afternoon's exam for a couple of hours. DS is late because he types and had to wait until the invigilator prints off his work and gives it to him for signing.

There are loads of year 11s walking past and they are all grim faced. I haven't seen one smile. Tough exam?

Reading on Twitter, Q5 was describing a pic of an old man, or writing a story with an unexpected ending (aqa)

Are the grim faced people AQA.........

I'm off to work; I won't see DS2 until after 5, so will have to make do with reading what people on Twitter thought of it.

I didn't mean to give the impression that I spend my time at work reading Twitter. I might get 5 minutes to myself at some point.

Missed first phonecalls from dgd because I was on the loo! Finally got hold of her. It did not ho well on descriptive writing for aqa paper 1 language. Section 1 she said was fine but really down about second half. she has got to get that damn grade and it sounds like she hasn't done very well. Trued to cheer her up and told her not yo think about it any more focus on geography this afternoon. They all got chucked off premises straight after exam so us in city shopping mall with mates eating lunch then back in an hour to school ready for geography. Hope everyone else did fine on English. Fingers crossed for all!

I don't believe they are being thrown out of school Sost. DD still doesn't even get study leave yet as the school is so paranoid they won't turn up for their exams if they don't have to come in for non-exam periods.

sostenueto there is still paper 2 plus she did say section 1 was fine, I do think English Language is very difficult to judge how you have done....

She makes me angry sometimes my dgd. Does she think at all sometimes? A pic of an old man. Easy description to write surely? Story with an unexpected ending. She's done masses of them! Just what us it with dgd and damn English!!!!!!!!

On MCAS which is app school uses to track live things about what lesson DC is in , reports, assessments, mock results, house points attendance, Behaviour is no longer functional for dgd. Their pin number for canteen been cancelled. Locker keys gsnded in last week. May 25th was their leaving day. No study leave which I thought just leave school!

Stickerrocks at DS's school on the last day all the teachers were drafted in to form a human chain from hall to exit, basically to herd them all off the site, not sure what they thought was going to happen all a little OTT.

Dd also said English language was good. But she also said it wasn't one she could revise as such, although she has done loud of extra sessions so I suppose that counts for a lot of revision.
