Thank you @AveEldon again for answering my question. The induction week staring in Tuesday... I’m excited and feeling stressed at the same time. I would like DS will to grow up quickly to be more independent but I don’t want to lose my little boy...

Hello everyone, I have enjoyed reading this thread for months and have found it very helpful in the journey since my son took the Whitgift entrance exam for year 6 and has now joined the school. I have finally registered now I have a question!
Everything’s happened very suddenly this week and now they’re off to Lake Garda already! Who know how to log onto firefly so we can see updates??

Oh silly me! I realise it is not a personal log-in but the username and password given on the handout

So in a similar situation - my son got an offer from Alleyns and DC Junior schools for entry into year 3.

Everyone keeps saying Alleyns entry is like a golden ticket - 200 children apply - 18 get places ...

My son wants to go to DC - to make it harder , they have offered him an Academic scholarship (percentage reduction on fees till he leaves!!)

any advice from people??

confused as to why Alleyns has this reputation of being hard to turn down.!

Sorry for the delayed response dulwichdad. Ds also got an academic scholarship to DC and he LOVES it! We have no regrets at all and don't doubt we made the right choice. For what it's worth since turning down Alleyn's I've met a number of parents who told me they went for other schools so it's not madness to say no to them! I still think Alleyn's is an amazing school but it just didn't feel quite right to me. I can honestly say DC has exceeded our expectations, and they have nurtured ds and really looked after him as a scholar. If you want to pm me for more info feel free.
