Anyone know much about these from previous years? How many girls are in the list and do they move much? Thanks

Elibean if they are continuing the big year/small year policy, then yes, this September's Y7 is due to be a big one.

I don't know for sure they are still alternating like that - can't see why they wouldn't be if that's how they best arrange their capacity and teaching, even if there are more building works due.

Elibean · 09/02/2018 09:46

That makes sense, Newt (curious, why 'another'? Smile)

Roseredvelvet · 09/02/2018 11:31

Lots of offers are in today, so hopefully places will free up at PHS!

Emvexed · 23/02/2018 17:42

Any news ladies? Just following thread from Cambridge (on 2 waiting lists here) and wondered how you're getting on.

Roseredvelvet · 27/02/2018 22:58

Emvexed no news here yet, though I know WL has moved at NHEHS, they've made offers to 2 girls at dd's school today!

Elibean · 02/03/2018 09:27

Nor here (though I kind of hope we don't hear anything, at is it will cause dilemma whereas dd2 currently attached to idea of joining dd1 at her school).

State school results today, private deadline on Monday: I think any movement more likely by middle of next week.

Vicky11Plus · 02/03/2018 09:49

LEH emailed all the offer holders yesterday to ask them if they were accepting or not now that they knew the state school results. I had been waiting to find out the Tiffin Girl's school results before making our final decision.

As DD got in to Tiffin Girls I let LEH know straightaway that we had decided (reluctantly because LEH looks amazing) not to accept. There will be other people in the same position, so hopefully it will be good news soon for those on the waiting lists.

Nailbar · 02/03/2018 11:15

Thank you Vicky11Plus for declining the LEH place, this is very considerate of you, particularly before the deposits for the private schools are due. We hope others follow suit as I have a lovely friend who's on the LEH waiting list and doesn't have a state option! Thanks again.

We and another friend have just been offered WHS so lists are moving!
Had just filled in another acceptance form and now have literally no idea what to do...

SwimmingMom · 02/03/2018 17:28

Another PHS waitlister here. Will accept at Sir William Perkins soon though.

Roseredvelvet · 05/03/2018 11:00

It seems that a lot of the girls schools moved to WL last week & still nothing from PHS! Has anyone heard anything? They told me they would know more this week... most of us would have accepted offers elsewhere now.

SwimmingMom · 05/03/2018 14:23

Just spoke to PHS. They have had a good uptake of offers (deadline was today morning) & at the moment are not moving to WL. Looks like that might happen only if any accepted places are withdrawn! Sad

Roseredvelvet · 05/03/2018 14:40

Thanks for the update SwimmingMom G&L, WHS & NHEHS moved to WL last week so I thought that might be the case!

Elibean · 05/03/2018 17:18

Thanks SwimmingMum - we’ve already accepted another offer, but a late offer from PHS might wobble us, so good to know that’s very unlikely now! Wishing luck and best outcomes to all who’d had an eye on WLs

Elibean · 05/03/2018 17:19

Incidentally, I know at least one who turned down PHS so if they’re not moving to awL they must have over offered....

jeanne16 · 05/03/2018 17:55

All schools over offer. The question is by how much.

Roseredvelvet · 05/03/2018 18:22

PHS offered 8 places to girls at our prep and only 1 accepted. They must've over offered this year, hence no move to WL. Apparently G&L have closed theirs today.

SwimmingMom · 05/03/2018 18:40

We have accepted another school as well, but PHS offer will be tempting. I was surprised to hear no WL movement. I was expecting a small movement at the very least or 'we don't know it's too soon' response. If anyone hears from PHS please update this thread...good luck to everyone waiting on this & other WL!

Elibean · 06/03/2018 12:17

Maybe they've learned to fine tune their offers so that no WL is needed - didn't move last year either!

Ah well, it was 50/50 for us as to which dd would choose anyway, so this way the choice is easier.

May I ask what you've accepted instead, SwimmingMom?

SwimmingMom · 06/03/2018 12:44

Elibean - we are going with Sir William Perkins's School. DH is very keen on PHS. I am divided. Both school journeys would be similar by train.

Karmacat · 06/03/2018 16:05

We too are on wait list. We already have a daughter at Putney and my other daughter is desperate to be with her sister. Also been told no movement on the list. She got into all her other schools (typically on the wait list for the one we all wanted) so we have had to accept another school and let all the others go. When my other daughter went to Putney lots of girls got offers from the wait list but doesn't seem to be the same this year :(

JuliaRobbers · 18/05/2018 08:47

Has anyone heard of any movement at all? I have nearly given up now...

Roseredvelvet · 18/05/2018 09:25

JuliaRobbers no news here either for the 3 girls on PHS waiting list at dd's school. There may be movement once first term fees are due, I know/have heard of several people having paid deposits for various schools 😱.

Nailbar · 18/05/2018 09:27

My friend got offers in the end from WHS, LEH and STCH but went with WHS, mainly because of logistics.

There may be movement once first term fees are due

For all the schools I'm familiar with, fees are due by the first day of term but a full term's notice puts the liability well before that. In this case, the first term's fees might not need to be paid until 1st September, but the liability should have been incurred when school re-started in mid-April.

Or does PHS do things differently?
