I can't find a new thread, moving on from the old full one, so I thought I would create one (please tell me if I'm wrong!)

Last night ds stayed up till 4.30am doing his biology coursework Shock

This time the tsunami affect didn't work and he left it far too late to do a reasonable job. Which is a bloody shame because he wants to do biology A level and he has done so well in his other controlled assessments.

I wait with bated breath to find out his mark

Oh well, thank God for half term!!

plant oil hydrogenation with a nickel catalyst?

BertrandRussell · 18/05/2017 17:52

That's it. I couldn't remember what he said and didn't want to ask again.

AtiaoftheJulii · 18/05/2017 18:53

Ds thought the drama was quite straightforward. And their teachers gave them their performance marks, and they'd all done well so that was good!

Dancergirl · 18/05/2017 19:19

Well done to your ds atia

Spanish for dd tomorrow, listening and reading/writing. She's gone to her dance school show rehearsal tonight with strict instructions to only speak Spanish her to her fluent Ecuadorian friend! Grin

BertrandRussell · 18/05/2017 19:22

Yes-Spanish here too. Ds hates Spanish!

Fleurdelise · 18/05/2017 19:27

DS also reported chemistry easier than biology (both AQA). He came out happy and I hope he realised the stress was not worth it.

Tomorrow PE and then English Lit on Monday, which it's his weakest subject, pass level but that's about it.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 18/05/2017 19:28

DD said that Chemistry was better than expected.

None now until Physics next week.

Then none until after the half term, when she will happily be on study leave and balancing going in for lessons/revision with teachers of subjects she still has exams for and staying home to revise otherwise.

She asked her sister today "Are you jealous? I don't have to have another Welsh lesson ever."

Dancergirl · 18/05/2017 20:35

For anyone who did Edexcel Biology, this is brilliant Grin

AtiaoftheJulii · 18/05/2017 20:41

Ds has 7 next week! And then after half term, a pleasing 6, 5 and 4 each week till the end Grin

Fleurdelise · 18/05/2017 20:49

DS has 5 next week, then 6 each week after half term.

Fleurdelise · 18/05/2017 21:03

Dancegirl that's funny.

And the AQA version Grin

Toffeewhirl · 18/05/2017 21:11

DS also said Chemistry (AQA) was surprisingly ok. He's been in a very upbeat mood ever since. No more exams till next week (Media, Physics, then Maths). The mood of the entire household feels lighter this evening Smile.

pointythings · 18/05/2017 21:43

fleur DD1 has 5 next week, then 6,5 and 2 in her last week.

NorthernLurker · 18/05/2017 22:15

Dd also happy with chemistry. Spanish tomorrow, suspect that could be dodgy......

AtiaoftheJulii · 19/05/2017 06:53

Good luck to anyone having an exam today!
First week nearly done Smile

errorofjudgement · 19/05/2017 07:11

Morning! Spanish here today and finally the school have announced the Al-level option blocks for 6th form. Right in the middle of the exams, aargh!

ifonly4 · 19/05/2017 07:15

DD was happy with OCR chemistry. She has a day off from exams today, but two big ones on Monday. Geography she's forecast to get a really good grade so hopefully that'll go well. Eng Lit forecast to get a 7, but has got 8s in mocks, so wants to aim for this. No pressure!

GiraffeorOcelot · 19/05/2017 08:42

DS is like a zombie this morning. He has breakfast and a cup of tea in bed but still looks shattered. I even offered to go to the shop and get him an energy drink (and I usually ban them)!

Edexcel Spanish this morning, he has been doing well in the past papers so he is hopeful of a decent result.

Fingers crossed he actually wakes up before it though 🤞

Laniakea · 19/05/2017 09:27

Good luck with the Spanish Smile

DD is done for the week - both English lits are looming though. Her plan for the next three days (she's up & dressed and apparently working ... I'll sneak in & check in 10 mins) is lots of English (Lord of the Flies & Macbeth which were done in year 10 & not at all fresh) a bit of maths, geography & physics.

I think next week might be the worst - only 5 exams (she's got 6 & then 7 in the two weeks after after half term) - she's resigned to maths being a nightmare but is very stressed about the Eng lit.

Laniakea · 19/05/2017 09:58

she wasn't working, or doing anything much at all. She's lost ALL of her Lord of the Flies notes and the revision notes she's done for Macbeth & Dr Jekyll. Bad start.

Laniakea · 19/05/2017 10:01

I printed her a new set of LitCharts & have told her to put the fucking book away & just learn them the notes.

BertrandRussell · 19/05/2017 10:04

LitCharts? You interest me strangely. Tell me about LitCharts?

BertrandRussell · 19/05/2017 10:08

Sorry- that was probably the most self absorbed post I've ever posted!

Proper "lost her notes" or teenager "lost her notes"?

Has she got an organized friend who can scan hers for her?

Laniakea · 19/05/2017 10:13

oh proper lost her notes - maybe on the train but who knows. She's still got poetry but that's all.

It's my other dd's birthday today & I'm trying to make cake etc not deal with usual dd1 being a moron shit.

LitCharts - hopefully good in an emergency - www.litcharts.com/ (or better than nothing?)

Gnome134 · 19/05/2017 10:16

DS happy with AQA biology and chemistry this week. Today is their last day before study leave, and he has PE exam this afternoon. Next week begins with English lit and geography on Monday. Hope they all get a balance of relaxation and revision done over the weekend.
