I can't find a new thread, moving on from the old full one, so I thought I would create one (please tell me if I'm wrong!)

Last night ds stayed up till 4.30am doing his biology coursework Shock

This time the tsunami affect didn't work and he left it far too late to do a reasonable job. Which is a bloody shame because he wants to do biology A level and he has done so well in his other controlled assessments.

I wait with bated breath to find out his mark

Oh well, thank God for half term!!

I think DS is just surfacing (mind you so am I, heavy night last night Blush)

Laniakea · 01/05/2017 12:33

Giraffe dd's start on the 16th too - French, biology 1, creative writing & chemistry 1 the first week.

She's been into town for 'emergency' cookies & frozen yogurt this morning and is just settling down to do some work now. She's got a C3 mock on Tuesday so is mainly doing chemistry & production (presentation on Friday). I've said I'll give her money if she can prove she's doing at least half an hour French revision a day

Ontopofthesunset · 01/05/2017 14:12

DS starts tomorrow - French.

Has been doing drama tech all morning in school so only just got in.

HappyMum543 · 01/05/2017 14:27

My ds starts his first science core exam on the 16th and english literature paper 1 on the 22nd and so on 4 days apart each exam... good luck to all the students

GiraffeorOcelot · 01/05/2017 17:10

A total of 45mins tassomai done here so far and now he's had to go and have a shower...

Ontopofthesunset · 01/05/2017 17:14

He's done an Italian writing paper and is now watching last weekend's Doctor Who with his dad. There are plans for more work this evening but I don't know how formed they are.

Laniakea · 01/05/2017 22:10

good luck to your ds for tomorrow namechange7711 :)

Laniakea · 01/05/2017 22:11

and to yours Ontopofthesunset!

GiraffeorOcelot · 01/05/2017 22:54

To be fair to DS he did also do two past papers with amazing results Smile

Good luck to those starting tomorrow!

Ontopofthesunset · 01/05/2017 23:13

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

pasanda · 02/05/2017 13:17

Good luck to everyone!

Giraffe - ds spends a lot of time in the shower! It seems sitting at his desk brings a sweat on which means he must have a shower Confused

First GCSE is PE on the 19th for us. Then that's PE over and done with which is a nice thought Smile

pasanda It's either the shower or the toilet. They are like his escape rooms!

I have previously suggested he does tassomai on the toilet when he's in there for half an hour each time, that didn't go down well GrinGrin

Laniakea · 02/05/2017 16:44

dd has a maths paper (1.5 hours), a chem paper (an hour), an English paper (2 hours) and a French booklet (she reckons about 30 minutes) to do tonight ... that's a bit much isn't it? All from today & due in tomorrow Hmm

Dancergirl · 02/05/2017 16:57

For those who had exams today, hope they went well Flowers

Dd starts on 15th May - RS (ethics).

booellesmum · 02/05/2017 17:00

Good luck to all your DC'S.
DD'S first exam is drama on the 18th.

pasanda · 02/05/2017 17:09

Laniakea - that sounds bloody ridiculous to me Shock

She will burn out before the exams if they keep setting that much Sad

DS would just refuse to do all that and wouldn't give a toss about the consequences.

namechange7711 · 02/05/2017 17:14

Well that's 1 exam down, 20 to go!!!

DS thought it went well, so hopefully that's boosted his confidence.

My nerves are a bit frazzled, not least due to a last-minute panic about the structure of the exam. Only confirmed at 10pm last night that this year is the first to have a new structure so all the past papers give the wrong instructions (not good for a DC with dyspraxia). It seems that 3 children in his year did the wrong thing. Shock

pasanda · 02/05/2017 17:14

But he's a bit naughty!!

OP posts:
pasanda · 02/05/2017 17:17

I'm not surprised your nerves are frazzled. What a start!!! At least your ds is confident about it I suppose, but those poor 3 that did the wrong thing Sad.

Yes I know, I can't imagine how demoralising that must be for them.

DS2 is normally the most disorganised child in the year by a long chalk, so I can't actually believe it wasn't him that messed up. We'll only know when the results come out really, but for the moment I'm just happy that he thinks it went well.

GiraffeorOcelot · 02/05/2017 18:39

Glad it seems to have gone well namechange.

Lannieka - that sounds a ridiculous amount after a full day at school.

!!! That sounds awful Draylon, glad your ds isn't too thrown by it.

Yesterday's revision involved staring at a closed book for quite a while, finally doing about an hour and a half's Macbeth revision and then having to go back to bed at 6.30! Today was better, I got home from work about 7 and he'd worked through half a CGP chemistry revision workbook Smile
