Errol that is most excellent news, a huge well done to herSmile.

HSM that is really annoying when it happens. Think you are right to prioritise emotional well being as underpins everything. It is really annoying when you think it's all sorted then suddenly isn't.

Very funny packing list Switch! Is DS getting excited AP.? DD starting tk prepare herself to come home. She says she feels like she has become a whole new person in many ways and has a whole new mind set. She hasn't said it but I know she is gutted she is coming home. DD and I hoped the trip would make her grow up a bit and become more independent and I think she has.

Horsemad · 17/07/2015 07:36

DS has just landed in Jo'burg Smile

HSMMaCM · 17/07/2015 07:55

Nothing else you can do now then horsemad

Nope, I actually switched off as soon as he left from school - was out of my hands then!

SugarPlumTree · 17/07/2015 15:52

Well done Horsemad Flowers

Things you don't text someone who had a 16 year old in Japan 'Heard Japan had storms yesterday, how is DD getting on ? '

auntpetunia · 17/07/2015 16:27

That's better than "how did she get on with the typhoon ?" Which is what it could have been sugar

SugarPlumTree · 17/07/2015 17:12

Very true AP. She's definitely ok as have had an email saying she is craving pizza and chippy food. And I think we need to sort spare room as sound as if we will be having some European visitors.

It's just I read that text earlier a few minutes after DH sent me one to say his Dad has been carted off in an ambulance unable to speak and the downstairs toilet broke. I had a few minutes of feeling sorry for myself .

ErrolTheDragon · 17/07/2015 17:16

Oh sugar, would have helped if that person had thought for a moment before texting. You had more than enough on your mind.

SugarPlumTree · 17/07/2015 17:44

Thanks Errol. I guess to be fair she didn't know about FIL but I don't know her particularly well in the scheme of things. Please all keep your fingers crossed for FIL, he is very elderly and frail. And bloody miles away.

Is today the end of term for everyone ? My DS is walking round like this Grin

HSMMaCM · 17/07/2015 18:53

Sugar. Sending healing thoughts to your FIL.

End of term for ds too. Very happy boy. Smile

Congratulations to Errol's dd. Brilliant news.

So sorry to hear about your FIL SugarPlum. Really hope things turn out ok. We have gone through years worrying about elderly PIL far away from us, but they are in a good care home now. Such a worry.

Major unexpected fallout in our house. Anyone else feel wrung out having made it to the end of term?

SugarPlumTree · 17/07/2015 19:27

Thank you both. No news still, we're working on assumption he has heat stroke due to temperatures currently over there. He's at home but has 24 hour care, I wish someone would ring.

Littleham I am absolutely shattered to be honest, this last half term seems to have gone on fair ever and ever. You've had to live through some pretty major exams not just GCSE's , not surprised you feel wrung out.

SugarPlumTree · 17/07/2015 19:43

He has Pneumonia. Currently responding well to IV AB'S and wants to go home. He'll be in next few days. No jumping on planes right now thank goodness.

ErrolTheDragon · 17/07/2015 23:11

Flowershope the ABs clear it up, sounds like he's fighting which helps.
It's horrible when you're a long way away from ageing parents.

Thanks all for your kind words re DD - she wasn't too confident about how the interview part had gone so she's really pleased. She and the school each get some money - not sure how much but should fund some electronics projects. And we went out and got a black&decker workmate this morning.Grin

SugarPlumTree · 18/07/2015 01:16

She has done SO well Errol, a very talented young lady !

My baby is coming home tomorrow Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 18/07/2015 01:19

She'll probably feel more grown up but I'm sure she'll always be your baby !Grin

SugarPlumTree · 18/07/2015 02:02

Exactly right GrinI'm really excited now, can't wait to see her. I hope she doesn't look too depressed to be back for DH's sake. Looking forward to some of her new friends visiting in next few months.

Horsemad · 18/07/2015 09:50

Hope your FIL is soon feeling better SPT

bigTillyMint · 18/07/2015 13:08

Sugar Plumb, hope it's going ok with your FIL and that your DD IS backSmile

SugarPlumTree · 18/07/2015 15:21

Thank you both. Radio silence from Spain. DD is now in Europe waiting for final flight then back later this evening Smile

auntpetunia · 18/07/2015 16:04

Ooh sugar bet you can't wait to see her. Hope FIL is on the mend.

I've just spent the afternoon packing and sorting DS only To discover he has another bloody about shirt that needs badges on!!! Grrrrr
DS didn't think he'd need PJs quote "I sleep in me bills " me "err no you need pjs you can go the toilet during the night etc!" Queue much huffing and puffing.....give me strength

auntpetunia · 18/07/2015 17:42

about should be scout!

SugarPlumTree · 18/07/2015 20:07

Thanks AP. Yes can't wait to see her, should be back soon. Return of the Prodigal Smurf - she apparently has Turquoise hair.

That's a gutter about the badges.smeaky thing badges, they breed. I found a fair few as part of the big kitchen clear up.

HSMMaCM · 18/07/2015 21:48

I have stored a bag of brownie badges with DD's jacket which I didn't sew on

OP posts:
ErrolTheDragon · 18/07/2015 22:57

I think the scouts should have a rule that unless some disability prevents it, the mandatory first badge is the Badge Sewing On Badge. Grin (Seriously, sewing is a useful skill.)
