Every blinking year there is one - and I read, and nod, and note. Sometimes they go on for months and pages. But this year, when I'm actually doing it - pah, not a sausage.

If anyone wants to do a last minute SPGS/Latymer/Godolphin/ KGS/LEH/WHS/PHS thread, please do! (disclaimer - I'm not doing all of those.). But views welcome. Because I've got several days to form my final views

MM - PHS vs WHS - which did you/your DD prefer? The 'unknown' with WHS is the new Head, but from all accounts she is very good...impressed with Open Day speech anyway. PHS a pain for my DD to get to, so didn't even look at it.

Hope everyone gets an option with which they are happy! For some reason I thought KGS and WHS were being sent out on the same day...! Lucky DD seems slightly more intelligent than I.

Will dream of big envelopes...

Chillax - I slightly prefer PHS to WHS but prefer JAGS to PHS. DD seems to have taken against WHS for some reason. But if you went on ease if journey the order is reversed, WHS (walking) PHS (single bus or tube) JAGS ( train).

DH is v keen in WHS in basis of locality, new head and a display of dancing at the interview day.

We're very lucky that we have options - and if Tiffin were to be thrown into the mix it would be even trickier!

Goodness, work to do, house a mess but I have my face glued up against the window waiting for the postman for Putney and KGS ......this waiting is miserable!

They wont have much idea for a week or so until they can start picking up what proporton of offer holders are turning them down.

So email confirming that you are still very interested in a place and asking if they could give you some indication of where you stand, ideally before you have to accept the other offer. It varys from year to year. A few years back Putney did not seem to move at all. Another year WHS was in favour so a bulge class there and WL movement at Putney.

We got wait list too for Putney! Will take Needmoresleep's advice and email, but it's bloody frustrating not knowing where you are and how realistic your prospects are! EG we are number 2 SHS so that will almost certainly turn into an offer, but we could be number 97 at PHS!

Also have to say GAH to PHS for sending out wait list letters in bloody A4 Envelopes! I was momentarily and cruelly deluded that we might have a place, but as soon as I picked it up and it was VERY thin, my poor wee heart just sunk.... needless cruelty IMHO!

Have heard nothing from the stationery shop. Presume that is a no but be nice to know rather than try and piece it together from messages on here :(

Don't worry we've not heard anything either. Our school said KGS had told them they were sending letters today so tomorrow is D day for us. Looks like they may send letters by schools.

I can't keep track - have people got what they wanted bar all the waiting list shenanigans? I really hope so.

We've got the last of the three interviews this week. I keep telling myself that if he made the iv cut (I think each of them gets rid of about 60% before interview) then the odds are that he'll get one offer. But then I wonder whether he got the lowest mark in the exam at all of them added to his natural inarticulacy and lack of extra-curricular talents...

So i vacillate between stressing about which one to choose should we have to make a choice and stressing about the no offer scenario.

And I've got over two weeks of this...

Thanks for the tip. Daughter will be disappointed about Putney WL. She wasn't all that excited about KGS (because of location) although I think it's a perfect fit. Hoping when we see the fields/sports grounds she will be impressed as she is only picturing the so called 'cage' and referring to a child she did sport with three years ago who attends who she didn't like! Oh dear, the rationale of an 11 year old.

Do some schools not send out 'no' letters at same time as 'yes' ones then? I think that's bad manners, if so Castles I hope you hear from them very soon, could it be that they used post instead of email?

Hi, I'm newbie to all of this. DD had a 10+ unexpected interview. Were the offers for 10+ and 11+ today ? I thought they were posting letters on 12th. Feel like I'm on a game so snakes and ladders. Good luck to all, especially 11+.
