Thanks! So relieved - I never thought I'd be sucked in to the stress vortex that I've seen other Year 6 mothers go through in past years (DS is my eldest) but I'm ashamed to say that I most definitely succumbed. Hoping I'll have my sense of perspective back by the end of half term...

You and me both Aunt fidget. I think I underestimated how much work was involved. Year 6 just snuck up on me. Also having got so far along in the process - just want a hood outcome !

NearThe Windmill - thanks for taking the time to post for our benefit. From both what you have said and our experience of the application process, I have every faith that the school is doing its utmost best within the context of a demographic rich in clever, well prepared, all rounded boys, to match the right boys to the school. I've been hugely impressed with the way that the process has been managed by the Head, Mrs Dowling and the rest of the staff. Regardless of the outcome, they have made the experience a good one for DS and I am very grateful for that.

We have city of London on Friday too...

DS had KCS interview today. Was happy coming out. Nothing too hard on the maths or english. We shall see.

Anyone else staring at their letter box today? Am waiting for KCS and Hampton letters please let him get one of them!

got the letter/ DS got waitlisted. Anyone know chance of a place?

Congratulations to both your DSs! Manny sorry no help whatsoever on stats but there will certainly be movement after the 14th March acceptance date. Fingers crossed for you.

don't think so...letter says no further tests or interviews will be required. Is that good?

Don't know. My DS was on the "one year one" as were a few of his friends. All got in a year later

Don't know. Maybe they changes their policy to be more in line with other schools.

Anyway......keep on them. It works. And my son, who is near to leaving, has had a fabulous education. The school was a perfect fit for him!!

yes, head will do. Our first choice. School thinks they will need to send termly report to school to support progress on application

do you think showing interest makes any difference? what if child is low on the waiting list ranking?

Don't know if it made a difference for DS or friends, but head was very persistent and made sure to update the school frequently and reaffirm his support. I sent a few letters also letting them know about our continued interest.

Did they give you any idea about place on wait list? I suspect not.

any idea on how many are on waitlist? eg they have 70-80 places, making maybe 100 offers? so maybe 30-40 on waitlist?
