How much are your yr11 prom tickets?

School A locally- £64
School B locally - £26

Both are non-selective state schools

Mine kids are not y11 yet but out of interest does the ticket include anything like food or drink or are ticket costs reflective of the costs of staging the event?

WTF £64 is ridiculous

Do you get a GCSE with the £64? Or at least a BTEC?!

I think my DSs prom tickets were about a fiver a few years ago though. No way would I have paid 64 quid, bloody hell where is it being held, The Ritz?

£33 including transport from school and a buffet, but not drinks.

£30 which includes drink on arrival and three course dinner.

£30 plus I've had my arm twisted to pay for a £30 vintage bus to take them 20 miles from the school (why?) to the venue.
But as I've got a DS I've not paid how much1? for a dress, tiara, nails,shoes, hair etc.

£64 is my son's school, but we are moving house (to the other side of the country), so he can't go. But he didn't bring the letter home, so I'm quite sketchy on the details. But it does include a coach to/from the venue, entertainment, a meal and (some?) drink(s) I think.

For parents of girls, it's particularly pricey, I think. On top of the ticket they also have to pair for dress, shoes, hair, make-up, nails, jewellery ...

£35 a head for food and drink, I think. And music of course!

But if they don't sell enough tickets, which they won't as they have catered for 100 and there are only 50 in the year (so assuming all will being dates!), then we will have to pay another £10!

About £35. Dd is buying it herself though. I bought her a dress, and that's my contribution done. Although I also said that if she wanted to take someone (£30) that I would buy that ticket.

Free in exchange for the key for the locker they have had since Y7.

£64 is madness.

DD's last year (held in a nice hotel) was £25 including 3 course dinner. No drinks though. They also had a day trip to Drayton Manor the next day and I think that was £25 as well (I paid for the prom, dd paid for the trip).

They planned the day trip (with an early start as it is miles away) to prevent prom after parties and the kids getting pissed.

I am dreading DD being in year 11. I hate all this prom stuff.

It was last year but it was zero. School hall done up by pupils and staff, refreshments paid for by PTA.
The only charge was £10 for a cd of pictures taken by a professional photographer.

£30 food and (soft) drinks included.

My prom was in the school hall.

All the dinner ladies were waitresses with little white aprons for the night.

I got so pissed. None of this prom dress mullarkey though, I wore a blue lycra dress from Dorothy Perkins

No proms at my DCs' school for Y11. They have to wait until Y13.

£30 including food and a soft drink on arrival. However the school are treating them to a day trip to Thorpe Park and a cinema trip too.

No Y11 prom at my DC's school either. Neither DS1 and DS2 bothered to go to their Y13 prom, they would have quite liked the party, but rejected it because they would have needed to wear a suit .

I suspect neither DD nor DS3 will go either when it is their turn (both ASD and not keen on loud music/crowds etc) so I think I might have got off lightly!

£35 a head, but it is at a local venue with a 3 course meal and disco. Drinks will be on top each class has also had to fundraise £100 towards the costs. Dd1 and friends made cakes to sell at school and raised the money pretty quickly for their class.

We've paid for her ticket and bought her a dress. A friends mum is taking them in her nice Mercedes, a friend is doing her hair and I will do her makeup. She's paying for the shoes and bag herself.

£12.50 to pay for a famous (locally) band and some food.

My DDs is about £30 including food, drinks and fireworks. I used to be a bit 'bah humbug' about proms but my DD and all her friends are really looking forward to it. It is nice for them to have something fun to look forward to after their GCSE's.
