Scottish Elections who do you think will take the majority of Seats?

Fundays12 · 12/04/2026 11:15

As a Scot I genuinely have no idea who to vote for.

I dont trust the SNP and find John Swinney completely incompetent. I wouldnt trust him to run my household budget let alone the countries so he is out for me. I cant stand labour, the tories well are not my cup of tea, lib dems and green would never get my vote.

However i dont seem to be alone in having no idea who to vote for which leaves me wondering who will take the majority of seats across Scotland. What do others think will happen?

What is it that makes you think they are racist?

Everything i have read states clearly hard working, legal migrants who contribute, follow British law and integrate are welcome to stay in the country. If a British citizen goes to another country to live we do so knowing we have to pay our own way so why should anyone come here and not do the same? When my child had an accident and Spain he got no medical care until we proved we had insurance. They made it clear because your foreign we wont treat him unless your insured. I didnt feel that was racism it was a country prioritising its medical care for Spanish born nationals.

What makes me think they’re racist? This, for a start:

This is a 3rd party saying what they think of Restore. What have Restore themselves said to make you think they are Racist and far right?

Ive never heard of them but their policies seem fair to me from what PP says. Whats the downside?

He doesn't define indigenous British ancestory so could well mean someone whose parents are British. I have friends whose grandparents are from the Caribbean originally but they were born and raised in Britain. I would say that means they have British ancestory because there parents are also British.

Also as a country Britain's recognised faith is Christian. Its not a faith I personally follow but regardless of that Britain is a Christian country and has been for hundreds of years. When I lived in a Catholic country I respected the fact it was a Catholic country despite it not being my personal religion.

Why is it right wing to deport people who came to the UK to live off the tax payer funded benefits system? Or to send criminals back to there own countries because the UK tax payer cant afford to pay for them to stay here?

A goverment should protect its own people first and if they dont they are failing in there duty. As a country we are in huge debt and British people are living on the streets whilst British kids go cold and hungry.

We cannot afford to pay for people from other countries to come to the UK to sit on benefits or sit in jails. If British people move abroad they expect to work, contribute, integrate and pay taxes in the country they move to so it's not much to ask to ensure the British government insists on the same for anyone moving to the UK. Its not right wing its protecting your own assets and country which is what ever prospering country in the world does. We dont its why we are in such a mess.

Its discussing political groups on a thread which is the point of the thread. Its not an odd turn its posters asking questions and engaging in a discussion. Restore is a new party which is gaining traction it was inevitable it would come up at some point on a thread about political parties.

Helpmaboa · 26/04/2026 22:57

Because of the weird support, not going to give this traction now

FortyFacedFuckers · 26/04/2026 23:06

For the first time, I honestly feel like there’s no one I can bring myself to vote for.

Okay thats your choice but maybe best avoid all thread about politics if you feel anyone discussing or supporting a political party you dont support is "weird support".

Its inevitable that different posters will support and discuss different political parties on a political themed thread. Just to add the term "weird support" is rude as everyone is entitled to there own opinions and should have that respected. You dont have to agree with there views but being rude is uncessary so if your going down that route your right to leave a thread.

The Greens are mad, mad ideas, ruining Scotland, throwing women & children under the bus of trans.
Labour are spineless and untrustworthy , Baillie is a bully and her daughter is pro prostitution & a trans ally.
Lib Dems are bat shit crazy too, throwing women & children under the bus of trans same as the Greens.

never heard of restore and any vote for them would likely be wasted as they won't get enough votes to make any difference. please vote wisely people!

They are a new party. However in just a few weeks they have built up a paid membership of 130 thousand people and a following of 1.2 million on Facebook alone so they are gaining momentum at a speed never seen before.

However you cant vote for them in these elections with the exception of Great Yarmouth area because they are still setting up candidates and branches all over the country and rather than rush it for this election decided to hold off and get the right candidates in post. Great Yarmouth has had an established candidate with them for a while hence the exception.

Unfortunately in my area outwith one independent candidate we have nobody decent to vote for so goodness knows the elections will go.

so you've posted on scotsnet about a party we can't vote for yet?
Bugger off with your propaganda. This is for general discussions not party political broadcasts.

I just replied to questions someone asked about Restore Britain although knew voting for them at the moment wasnt an option so never brought them up. Another poster mentioned them and asked about them so got information about them provided.

I also posted the original thread because I dont know myself who to vote for as i am thoroughly disillusioned with the SNP ( and most other parties).

There is no propaganda involved and being rude is unnecessary.

If you want to know how your elected representatives voted in regards to the GRR bill -

https://www.parliament.scot/chamber-and-committees/votes-and-motions/S6M-07312

I find it a useful tool to identify which MSP's hate women's rights and therefore who I will not vote for under any circumstances (as well as seeing who actually had the courage of their convictions and voted against whips)

The Scottish Parliament

The Scottish Parliament examines what the Scottish Government is doing, makes new laws on devolved matters and debates the issues of the day.
