Scottish Elections who do you think will take the majority of Seats?

As a Scot I genuinely have no idea who to vote for.

I dont trust the SNP and find John Swinney completely incompetent. I wouldnt trust him to run my household budget let alone the countries so he is out for me. I cant stand labour, the tories well are not my cup of tea, lib dems and green would never get my vote.

However i dont seem to be alone in having no idea who to vote for which leaves me wondering who will take the majority of seats across Scotland. What do others think will happen?

We need to accept that at best the nhs in both Scotland and England is patchy though. Have you tried getting treatment for adhd? The wait is at least 4 years. 4 years of suffering. 4 years of not being able to give your best at school / work. And that’s before we get onto the fact that our cancer stats are the worst in Europe.

Can we please say we deserve better? If I’ve broken a leg and called for an ambulance, I want an ambulance to come immediately. Is that too much to ask?

We need to bin the current model and do better. Politicians need to concede this and stop messing around. If they leave it to Reform we’ll get a US healthcare system when a European one would be so much better than that - and SO much better than what we have now!

Yes I agree with you. It really scares me that ambulances take so long to come now (I hear). I have never called an ambulance in my life but it was reassuring to know it was available (especially now that I am getting older).

I just want a service where I can get a GP appointment with no fuss (like in the nineties, I would call up and get a same day appointment or they would be so apologetic if I had to wait till the next day just for a routine appointment). Then i want to be able to access treatments quickly and in hospitals that are clean and well staffed and don't have huge backlogs in A&E because there are no beds on wards.

It's all very unsettling.

I read the A&E horror stories on here and I would have to be actually dying to go there otherwise I avoid it at all costs.

We also need our police force fixed. I have a friend in the police and it is very scary how little officers are actually available when you call in for help. I always imagined a city for example having hundreds of officers dealing with all the queries but the numbers are so small it is frightening. Also as the job has become so violent on the front line, so little respect from the public that officers are leaving. They need to fund the police properly, arm them properly and make crimes even low level antisocial behaviour and shoplifting have punishments that would actually make people think twice. The number of officers that are actually attacked is scary. Where once the police were looked up to and respected now they are being spat on, hit, kicked, stabbed. As they are having trouble recruiting now because nobody wants to do the job the police are getting lower and lower in their standards. We need to up their pay for this dangerous work, arm them properly and lock the little shits up.

One of my neighbours has got an SNP poster up in his/her window. I felt really depressed when I saw that today (and angry and helpless)
Please not 4 more years of these incompetent idiots.
We need someone who will make the difficult decisions and change things and be able to ignore the backlash/moaning that will come.

I’m going conservative on the list. Constituency Labour to keep SNP out.

Thats not a bad shout

LazyCatLtd · 29/04/2026 05:16

I have absolutely no idea how to vote. A Tory MP called round the other day and actually seemed interested and engaged. I’ve never spoken to anyone on the doors before.

I am actually thinking Tory to. My local vote is an independent candidate but no way would I vote SNP, Labour or Lib dems. Woman's safety seem to be at the bottom of SNP and labours lists.

Greens are also out for me.

Do you all just vote because of a single policy?

I cant comment on other posters but I vote on multiple policies and if it aligns with my own views. For my local candidate I vote for the one who is enthusiastic, helpful and supportive of constituents concerns.

It’s just you keep mentioning women’s “safety”.

Many people in Scotland do. SNP is basically a single issue party. Many who vote for them do so because they believe in Scottish independence, regardless of what they think of their other policies

Yet they have governed Scotland since 2011 and have delivered loads of policies to benefit the people who live here. Don’t you live in Scotland?

In my case, yes, I’ll not be voting for any party that supports and allows men into women’s single sex spaces.

Really? Like what ? Loads of men being enabled to invade women’s single sex spaces ?

A perfect example of a single issue person.

RhannionKPSS · 29/04/2026 14:10

The SNP disgust me , as do the Greens. Scotland has turned into a Marxist state, they want people to be utterly dependent on the state, they have ruined Scotland’s reputation for excellence in education for one thing

Well anyone who says men can be women is a straight no for men. If they say that they're:

  1. obviously thick as mince, or;
  2. prepared to lie.

Either of the above characteristics completely rule out that person as a candidate for me.

I live in Scotland. I pay £500 a month extra in tax in order to do so. Which SNP policies have benefitted me more than having that £500 in my pocket would?

I wouldn’t mind if they didn’t piss all the extra money up the wall bribing voters. Capped food prices? How much money do they think they’ll waste in legal fees fighting the supermarkets that take them to count before they finally concede defeat I wonder.

A perfect example of a single issue person.

That single issue person is just whittling down the field though. She’ll no doubt look at the policies of the other parties that are prepared to respect women’s rights and choose from them. A woman is allowed to prioritise women’s rights you know, despite so many TRAs telling us it’s bigoted to do so.

Personally I revel in being called a bigot these days. If that’s what those that refuse to see women discriminated against are called, so be it.

Yes because its a huge concern of mine. Every woman has the right to walk the streets safely, to go to a toilet in safely and to go about there day to day lives feeling safe if a political party dont respect that they are not one i will be voting for. However other factors come into play to.
