Oh goodness itsback. Glad your MIL has recovered, and FiL not too badly affected, but, yes, as patritus says, what a nightmare for you all!

I'm interested to hear that one of the things being considered in this round of reviews is whether to drop some of the restrictions in health care settings such as distancing requirements, with a view to boosting capacity. It seems pretty clear at this point that such things aren't helping to slow spread in any meaningful way (about 30% of COVID in hospital was acquired in there I think) and since there are apparently record pressures in healthcare perhaps letting people work without tieing one hand behind their back would do more good overall. The risk of infection would be there, but it is anyway, and at least we'd maybe get some access to healthcare back.

It's a bit like the masks in Tesco's thing though in that its a safety blanket for people, so perhaps she won't be that brave.

And masks until mid April
Why FFS

patritus · 30/03/2022 14:16

Whaaaaaat!!!!!!

mibbelucieachwell · 30/03/2022 14:28

I'm so annoyed by the continued mask mandate.

Numbers in hospital are slightly down today.

mibbelucieachwell · 30/03/2022 14:29

Just read @Itsbackagain's post. Very good news. I hope they make a full recovery very soon.

GibbonsGoatsGibbons · 30/03/2022 14:32

@user1487194234

And masks until mid April Why FFS
Cos they've been working so well?! Hmm
GoldenOmber · 30/03/2022 15:19

FMQs is always about showboating anyway, but I would like more questions with some actual answers!

Here’s one to start: “what do you think happens to public trust in your government in general, and future public health measures in particular, to keep saying you’ll drop a restriction and then changing your minds?”

GoldenOmber · 30/03/2022 15:20

It’s good to see that the cases do seem to be going down at last, though. Finally…

However in even bigger news ....

From Monday 11 April we will no longer provide updates to the figures on this webpage

Therefore I officially retire tomorrow!

I have no idea how this role evolved and thinking of tier puns caused undue stress at times however from now on, at 2pm each day (or whenever I remember 😳) I'll think of each and everyone of you fondly

OP posts:
CuddlyCactus · 07/04/2022 14:39

Aw will miss you at 2pm every day dancemom (I'm frequent name changer but been here with you throughout)
You've kept me sane over the months by giving me safe place to just find the figures without all the doom, gloom and political posturing! Thank you,

Hope you and dancedaughter are doing ok

Hey guys, it's@dancemom 's leaving do tomorrow. Here, 2pm

WouldBeGood · 07/04/2022 14:44

Oh, @dancemom!

Thanks so much for all your updates, like @CuddlyCactus has saved me from trawling the news.

🍷as a 2pm reminder 😃

mibbelucieachwell · 07/04/2022 15:10

The end of a tiera. Smile

Hopefully tomorrow's numbers will show another decrease in hospital numbers. Bets on an * for the last day?

WouldBeGood · 07/04/2022 17:37

Nice one @mibbelucieachwell 😃
