For a mother/daughter night away for me and 19 year old DD.

Any recommendations?

Stobo castle.

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 08/08/2021 22:17

I clicked on the thread to say Stobo too.

WouldBeGood · 08/08/2021 22:20

Is Stobo healthy? Don’t want any no alcohol, or healthy meals 😂

I've been looking for similar, so will follow.

Stobo is fully booked until pretty much the end of the year. So if you were hoping to go before then you might not be in luck!

WouldBeGood · 08/08/2021 22:21

Oh! Yes, I want to go this year.

Wynyard Hall, Matfen Hall, Middleton Lodge.

latissimusdorsi · 08/08/2021 22:55

Norton House

PeaAndHamSoupFromAChicken · 08/08/2021 22:56

Carnoustie Golf Hotel might be worth a try.

I was meant to be going there last year with my mum for her birthday then the pandemic hit so we didn't get to go.

Ladylunchalot · 08/08/2021 23:18

Cardrona at Peebles? A friend was there pre covid and said it was amazing. Pics looked pretty good too.

nervousfirsttimer1985 · 08/08/2021 23:23

Ladore Falls and Armathwaite Hall in the Lake District are both amazing.

Defender90 · 08/08/2021 23:24

Lochside House Hotel gets a good rep, it's local to me but I've never been (because it's so local)

Mrsmessyhairdontcare · 08/08/2021 23:28

Old course hotel St Andrew’s or the Sheraton Edinburgh has a rooftop hydro pool.

Twix42 · 09/08/2021 08:57

Don't book Cardrona in Peebles. Was there a couple of weeks ago. Was dire, really awful. There was a problem with everything.

florafoxtrot · 09/08/2021 09:08

Matfen Hall in Northumberland is lovely.

GuckGuckDoose · 09/08/2021 09:30

Amazed no one has mentioned Gleneagles yet, best by far IMO. But again booking likely to be an issue…

GoAwayCat · 09/08/2021 09:53

Depends on budget - Gleaneagles is in a different league to some of the places mentioned - we just looked at a night there for a few weeks away and the only available room was nearly £700. Although it is very nice.

I've been to quite a few of the places mentioned and Seaham Hall was one of my favourites for the price. You go through an underground tunnel that connects the hotel to the spa and for some reason I really loved that Grin

We've been trying to book something similar for the next few months and we've given up. Can't find anything decent at a sensible price.
