Empty shelves

Apologies if this has been covered but what's with the empty shelves in shops and the 'apologies we're trying to sort our stock levels as quickly as we can' posters. Is this brexit related or something else?

And yes to shorter dates on things, but I've noticed that for a good while now. You need to check your dates if you are buying in a Friday afternoon for a Sunday now. Gone are the days you can get a weekly shop ime

I was in Sainsbury's this morning and noticed huge swathes of empty shelves, particularly the chocolate / sweets shelves. I guess the short dates / things going off is because they're having to wait in warehouses longer before being delivered.

After over two weeks my local Lidl finally has fresh supplies of their adult dry cat food. I'm now stocking up Grin - and my dad is on notice to get some more if he sees any in his local Lidl.

Dh went in to get some stuff on Thursday and commented on how empty the shelves were.

Two things I make sure to keep a stockpile of: cat food and loo roll Grin

Glad you got sorted.

I buy neither of those essential in the supermarket Grin

Got a click and collect on Saturday so wasn't in the shop to see the shelves. No substitutions on a £160 shop but did get 2 shorter dated items. Both dated for today, one already eaten and the other will be used in dinner today (had to reshuffle the plan).

Didn't buy any chocolate or sweets though....

Husband says it’s the lack of drivers 30 thousand back log for driving tests and basically their we’re not driving tests or lessons also shortage of vets and bus drivers 🤷‍♀️

You literally can name your price if your a truck driver at the moment

Not being mean to anyone but this is why some people have been wanting to talk about the fall out of locking the whole country down for near on two years this will not be the only thing trust me
