Totally agree the fanzone should be proof of negative test before entry. Like that nightclub event in Liverpool.

Or Wembley for the English Euro 2020 matches.

"Fans attending England's Euro 2020 group games at Wembley Stadium will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative test before entry....Those not fully vaccinated must show proof of a negative lateral flow test taken within the previous 48 hours....Ticket holders for matches taking place at Hampden Park will not be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test."

So somehow the SG, who have managed to become synonymous with caution when it comes to COVID restrictions, are starting to look down right reckless when it comes to the Euros.

Almost every fan right now would be happy to commit to a test before the event if it meant no worries about it being cancelled.

Yes, this is odd. Could it be that they want to reserve the right to cancel the event? If folk have proof of test then they couldn’t justify shutting it down? It really does seem bizarre they are not applying the same rules as Wembley.

It sounds miserable tbh. There’s to be instructions of when to stand and sit, no alcohol. If I were a fan, I’d be sorting out friends round to my house, with alcohol and no micro management- so we could all enjoy the game together.
