This sounds bad and pretty major I'd say. It has been breaking news in the last twenty minutes.

MyView2 · 04/02/2021 22:08

I don’t know but I’ve just read this report from the Daily Record www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/staff-member-reportedly-stabbed-crosshouse-23445915

ssd · 04/02/2021 22:12

Seen online a man has stabbed a nurse, possibly his partner and then jumped off a viaduct? This isn't confirmed though, I really hope its wrong, how terrible if its not Sad

I've read one nurse stabbed and another injured. Terrible but not necessarily explaining why there are so many armed police etc. Hopefully it's an isolated incident and I'm praying nobody has been killed.

flindorama · 04/02/2021 22:12

I'm 2 minutes from Crosshouse. My cousin is a nurse on night shift tonight. Still loads of conflicting reports. Someone's jumped off the viaduct in town. No idea what is happening really.

Kinneddar · 04/02/2021 22:14

Pretty standard if, as reports say, someone's gone into hospital, stabbed at least one person & then made off

Yes I suppose somebody unpredictable (for whatever reason) with a knife could cause endless levels of harm and terror. Thinking of all those involved.
TaighNamGastaOrt · 04/02/2021 22:18

Just seen this, bloody awful. Not sure if Crosshouse and Killie incident connected but the Mirror claims they are.
How horrid in a pandemic, this is the last thing doctors and nurses need.

FelicityPike · 04/02/2021 22:21

Awful.
Disgusted by Ayrshire News bloody live-streaming from both locations on Facebook though! Outrageous behaviour that.

Kinneddar · 04/02/2021 22:22

Armed response is very normal. If you remember the stabbing in the summer where a cop was injured, the armed officers attended that & ultimately shot the knife man.

Theyre much better equipped to deal with an incident like this than a regular response cop. Especially when the initial reports would be confusing & the motive etc unknown

The 2 incidents are apparantly connected

PivotPivotPivottt · 04/02/2021 22:43

A 3rd incident now being reported on Ayrshire Daily News a crash on the A76. Hoping all reports of fatal stabbings are incorrect horrible to think of people going to work and that happening Sad

TaighNamGastaOrt · 04/02/2021 23:18

not sure if its true, but family friend says a guy killed his wife, a nurse, stabbed her friend who came to help. then he chucked their daughter off the bridge and crashed his car. Not sure if thats true but how dreadful.
This lockdown has a lot to answer for.

Trumplosttheelection · 04/02/2021 23:19

Sounds bad.

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 04/02/2021 23:22

I'm not far from Kilmarnock, I've also heard it was a stabbing, two stabbed and the alleged culprit has jumped off a viaduct. People saying its an ex partner but this is coming from fb so possibly speculation. Very sad if true.Sad

HirplesWithHaggis · 04/02/2021 23:25

I hadn't seen any reference to a child till now.

Twintub · 04/02/2021 23:28

I hope that’s not true they are saying 3 incidents

rawalpindithelabrador · 04/02/2021 23:28

The culprit allegedly ended himself by jumping off a bridge.

HirplesWithHaggis · 04/02/2021 23:31

If he died jumping off the viaduct, how is a car crash on the A76 (after the viaduct incident) involved?

Kinneddar · 04/02/2021 23:37

@HirplesWithHaggis

If he died jumping off the viaduct, how is a car crash on the A76 (after the viaduct incident) involved?
No doubt it'll all come out in due course but the Police have confirmed it was linked

I heard he was still alive

ASmallMovie · 04/02/2021 23:48

I’m not sure how true the reports are but to the previous poster who said ‘this lockdown has a lot to answer for’. Please just no.
Male violence against women has a lot to answer for.
Again, with the caveat that the reports are true.

MichelleScarn · 04/02/2021 23:53

Agree felicity I don't follow the Ayrshire Daily News for exactly this reason anymore. They ar modern equivalent of the horrors salivating at the gallows.

HirplesWithHaggis · 05/02/2021 00:46

It is currently reading as a dv incident, family annihilation followed by attempted/suicide isn't uncommon. And yes, it's standard male violence, lockdown is no excuse (especially if we're talking about exes here).

ssd · 05/02/2021 08:15

Sorry but I take exception to 'its standard Male violence '.

Theres nothing standard to it. Male violence is awful, but saying its standard to me says all males are violent as standard. My DJ and dd's have never been violent and never will. Not all males are violent and I really resent this casual implication they are.

Stupid phone. My dh and ds's of course.

ProseccoThyme · 05/02/2021 08:19

I used to work in Crosshouse - how awful.

I hope there isn't a child involved in this
