@ssd

Sorry but I take exception to 'its standard Male violence '.

Theres nothing standard to it. Male violence is awful, but saying its standard to me says all males are violent as standard. My DJ and dd's have never been violent and never will. Not all males are violent and I really resent this casual implication they are.

That’s not what people are saying, though. Men as a class/group are more likely to be violent, and to be involved in violent altercations, than women as a class. It’s just a fact, and the behaviour of specific individuals within the class isn’t a factor.

This is a horrible tragedy.

They have confirmed 2 women and a man have died 😥 so very sad

ItsIgginningtolooklikelockdown · 05/02/2021 11:45

Of course not all men are violent! But if there's been a violent crime the chances are high that it will have been carried out by a male, as men are responsible for the majority of violent crimes.

One of the womans dd's is a couple of years below ds in his school (ds thinks she has other siblings too). Poor souls, how do kids that age even begin to compute what has happened?
princesspeppax · 05/02/2021 12:04

So very sad news said she was a mother of 4, one of her Daughters aged 24 has been named as another victim. Absolutely heartbreaking

ItsIgginningtolooklikelockdown · 05/02/2021 12:41

It is so sad and such a waste of their lives.

WaxOnFeckOff · 05/02/2021 12:50

Update says that 39 year old woman stabbed in hospital car park, a 24 year old woman stabbed in 2nd incident nr viaduct and that the 3rd was a fatal crash in which 40 yr old man died. No risk to public.

So very sad.

WaxOnFeckOff · 05/02/2021 12:52

They were unable to save either of the two women. So give info above, looks like 3 kids left without parents and older sister? Presuming that man in crash was the perpetrator and their father? Heartbreaking.

ItsIgginningtolooklikelockdown · 05/02/2021 12:54

I really hope he wasn't their father (on the basis it's harder to deal with than if it was an ex partner but not your dad - and also then they might still have a parent left to care for them)

WaltzingBetty · 05/02/2021 12:55

Police have said they aren't looking for anyone else

It sounds similar to the Jodie Willsher case a while back. Very sad

Yes, that's what I was thinking, hope that these kids have someone else in their lives.
Kinneddar · 05/02/2021 13:36

I heard it was the mothers ex partner & step father to her children. Equally tragic but at least if it is hopefully the other children will have their Dads support

The way ds understands it he was step father to the daughter who died, and dad to the other 3 girls, but he may be wrong.
icanboogieboogiewoogie · 05/02/2021 19:36

When I first heard the details of this this morning I said to DH ' give it a few hours before the 'he was a lovely man' 'completely out of character' stories start.' And boom. There they are. Like clockwork. (I'm not linking. They're on Twitter.)

Mrsmorton · 05/02/2021 19:42

@icanboogieboogiewoogie just said precisely the same. Sad

WeAllHaveWings · 05/02/2021 22:15

I haven't seen anything, hopefully the posts will be taken down. Denial is part of the process his family and friends will go through. They have lost someone and are victims of his horrific actions too.

Unfortunately social media gives them a too easy platform to hastily voice it publicly, before they accept what had happened and probably regret it later. Best to ignore.
