Scotsnet does not represent Scotland

At a time when polls are showing unprecedented support for independence and even John Curtice agrees the polls are clear, why is Scotsnet such a bastion of unionist opinions? Is it just due to the demographic of Mumsnet? Why has this site become such a right wing enclave?

You could say that about a General Election too @Graffitiqueen! Or a pandemic! Biscuit

CayrolBaaaskin · 26/01/2021 20:26

@WouldBeGood - no one has any idea about the future really, no. Anyone who tells you they do is lying. But there are a whole load of issues that could come up even if you don’t like change and don’t vote for change (like Covid, brexit, etc) that are a whole lot worse than having to show your passport an additional time because you’ve decided to take the train to Paris for some weird reason.

So no, no guarantees in life. But rUK unlikely to put up hard border to EU. But no guarantees in life as I said.

WouldBeGood · 26/01/2021 20:27

@CayrolBaaaskin what about my shopping dilemma?

Graffitiqueen · 26/01/2021 20:27

@florafoxtrot no you really couldn't. A general election is not permanent and a pandemic is unavoidable.

CayrolBaaaskin · 26/01/2021 20:28

@WouldBeGood - that’s it, you show us.

Graffitiqueen · 26/01/2021 20:28

But rUK unlikely to put up hard border to EU.🙈🙈🙈🙈they just did!!!!!

WouldBeGood · 26/01/2021 20:28

The uk will have to put up a hard border. The whole premise of Brexit was to stop immigration and control borders

florafoxtrot · 26/01/2021 20:29

@WouldBeGood - Can you really not see that the questioning of intelligence is coming from both camps?!

I'm constantly trying to be as respectful as I can and see it from both sides and again - just getting bloody attacked.

I am sorry for the abuse you received from the OP, that was personal and uncalled for.

WouldBeGood · 26/01/2021 20:30
@WouldBeGood - that’s it, you show us.
Show you what?

That independence in Europe would mean that I couldn’t buy ham or cheddar cheese in Carlisle and bring it home to Scotland? That’s the reality you’re seeking.

florafoxtrot · 26/01/2021 20:31
@florafoxtrot no you really couldn't. A general election is not permanent and a pandemic is unavoidable.
Ok sorry

kamalasshaman · 26/01/2021 20:32

@florafoxtrot you probably missed some of what was said earlier by graffiti . I was sworn at,called thick and talked to in a really unpleasant way. Other posters had referred to vitriol, vindictive behaviour and bullying and I referred to that. It's sheer bullying behaviour and they just will not give up till they get the last word.

@WouldBeGood there is a common travel area with Ireland. Look it up if you don’t believe me.

Yeah, you would have to buy your meat more locally maybe. Unless there were other rules as there are at the Irish border. But I don’t think we all need to miss out on independence just because you might have to go to a different supermarket.

Graffitiqueen · 26/01/2021 20:34

Kamala you do realise that all your posts and mine are there for everyone to see don't you?

WouldBeGood · 26/01/2021 20:35

@kamalasshaman that’s simply untrue about @Graffitiqueen

florafoxtrot · 26/01/2021 20:35

@kamalasshaman - definitely did not miss the being called uneducated part! I probably have missed a bit and I'll acknowledged that. The whole name calling thing just generally gets to me.

I absolutely agree with the premise that Scotsnet is very pro Union and to question that doesn't seem to be allowed.

Graffitiqueen · 26/01/2021 20:35

You falsely accused me of vitriol, I suggest if you can't take pushback on that then you should avoid false accusations in the future.

CayrolBaaaskin · 26/01/2021 20:36

Also @WouldBeGood didn’t you call us “inane” a few posts ago? So maybe if you didn’t do that, op wouldn’t call you vitriolic. Just an idea.

WouldBeGood · 26/01/2021 20:37

Thanks, all. That has helped me decide

kamalasshaman · 26/01/2021 20:37

@WouldBeGood

I don’t think I’m the stupid one here

@Graffitiqueen

Do you think I'm going to be insulted by you saying I don't like ambiguous situations and be shamed into voting yes or something?!!!

You're damn fucking right I don't like ambiguous situations which is why I will not be voting for uncertainty.

And also Kamala if you start a thread by insulting no voters by accusing them of being right wing you can't then tell tales to the teacher.

kamalasshaman · 26/01/2021 20:39
@WouldBeGood no one has called you stupid.
Nasty, vindictive, hateful, unreasonable, like a dog with a bone, those have been implied.
This is what I said. It was referring to earlier posts where unionists had been called these things.

Ooooh I swore!!! SIOB

WouldBeGood · 26/01/2021 20:40

🤷🏻‍♀️

Scotsnet does not represent Scotland
WouldBeGood · 26/01/2021 20:41

I’d suggest you sign up with the Party College to get better at persuading.
