So Scotland has a press conference at 5:30pm, what do you think she'll be saying?

Same rules as England - or with a slight difference?

@Bridecilla

Netherlands are shut so flying to Aberdeen was his only option. I cant make sense of the Scottish rules. I interpreted it as travel restricted 23rd-27th. Dp thought from tomorrow onwards.

Not sure if it makes a difference but he was planning on coming home for a few months rather than just for Christmas. His work has dried up in Norway

That would be deemed essential I think I don't know how he can stay somewhere where he isn't getting paid. If he's a British citizen he should be able to come back here and claim UC or if he had been working put on furlough.

They are linking to the previous rules which included in the exemptions

travel to participate in or facilitate shared parenting or between two parts of an extended household

Extended households are bubbles. Our bubble crosses the border - looks like legally we could come and go as we please ( plan was for 3 day visit from Boxing Day) but not sure I can face explaining this to everyone. Think we are staying put.

Actually the person flying into Aberdeen could be both shared parenting (his kids) and part of an extended household (with his mum) so would meet the exemption.

Not nurseries! Argh!

Bridecilla · 20/12/2020 15:49

Thanks. His flight has just been cancelled. Not sure what the hell he's going to do.

This feels a little dramatic to say, but, I think he needs to phone the British Embassy, Bride. They will, at least, have up to date information about what is allowed and what travel options he has.

I'm sorry, that is going to be messy for him.
