So Scotland has a press conference at 5:30pm, what do you think she'll be saying?

Same rules as England - or with a slight difference?

So no school till the 18th what are those of us who have to work going to do? Last time the schools were closed so were the workplaces we work at but not this time.

Oregano20 · 19/12/2020 22:46

Bags packed, leaving before "festive period" kicks in. You can say I'm selfish but I've been isolating with a baby since march!

Bridecilla · 19/12/2020 22:46

Netherlands are shut so flying to Aberdeen was his only option. I cant make sense of the Scottish rules. I interpreted it as travel restricted 23rd-27th. Dp thought from tomorrow onwards.

Not sure if it makes a difference but he was planning on coming home for a few months rather than just for Christmas. His work has dried up in Norway

Peppafrig · 19/12/2020 22:54

The current rules say you should not travel between Scotland and England .

C0NNIE · 19/12/2020 22:56

So he might be allowed to transit through Aberdeen onto a London flight. The airline will know .

DecemberDiana · 19/12/2020 22:59

The current rules would allow for "essential travel."

Peppafrig · 19/12/2020 23:13

Looking at essential travel I’m not sure any of those would apply in this case. I guess the moving house one might apply .

DecemberDiana · 19/12/2020 23:31

End of Employment/ repatriation?

DecemberDiana · 19/12/2020 23:32

That would seem essential.

Peppafrig · 19/12/2020 23:43

It’s must be essential or how else is he going to get home right . I’m sure it will be fine .

Horehound · 19/12/2020 23:48

@Bridecilla i am pretty sure the travel thing is from tomorrow. My brother just drove up from Kent (after a rapid covid test...negative!) And he was saying luckily he made it today otherwise he'd not have been allowed tomorrow.

Horehound · 19/12/2020 23:49

But anyway I'd still say he could come. And if UK is his home then he is allowed.

Peppafrig · 19/12/2020 23:50

@Horehound it’s been in place for the past six weeks.

Bridecilla · 19/12/2020 23:51

Just checked with him. He's got no address here - he just stays at mum's when he comes home. He has 2 kids but doesn't live with their mum.

He was due to view a new build house here on the 23rd

Peppafrig · 19/12/2020 23:53

@Bridecilla so he will be putting down his Mum’s address on the passenger locator form when he lands . So perfectly reasonable for him to travel over the border to the address he has provided .

Horehound · 19/12/2020 23:53
@Horehound it’s been in place for the past six weeks.
They actually said today no travel across uk from tomorrow.
Maybe previously there was no travel over tiers but if you were linked to the same tiers you could travel.

Peppafrig · 19/12/2020 23:55

No boris Johnston said that Nicola Sturgeon has banned travel to other parts of the UK from November it was put into law.

Peppafrig · 19/12/2020 23:57

@Horehound it’s been the law not to cross the border since 20th November

cdtaylornats · 20/12/2020 00:06

Tier 6 you aren't even allowed to look out of the window.

Horehound · 20/12/2020 00:13

Well he can travel actually because he's sellinghis house.

Peppafrig · 20/12/2020 00:19

@Horehound well that would be essential travel that you have dropped in now as information now that you realize the advice you were giving was actually against the law.

Horehound · 20/12/2020 00:51

So? He is selling his house it's been on the market for over a year and now it's under offer so he's come to pack up all his stuff.... Confused

alicewasahorse · 20/12/2020 10:14

sunshinehousexo nurseries are also closed until 18th Jan unless key worker or vulnerable

wigglywormx · 20/12/2020 10:34

@alicewasahorse where did you find this information?

alicewasahorse · 20/12/2020 10:54
