Hey.

Does anyone know what Edinburgh will be like due to COVID at the end of august? Will places be open? (Castle, shops)

Thank you.

@Bodgedboxdye

What’s chippy sauce? Hmm

@LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett yup, I saw that it was made to order. I won’t be getting one but I think my partner may go for it. (:

Like watery, vinegary HP sauce. It's epic. Sure they will have vinegar or ketchup for the tourists Grin

Ketchup Wax?

The filthy, filthy feckers.

OP Chip shop sauce is watered down brown sauce. It is the condiment of the gods.

Yep, i bet it's not even Heinz. I want to come to Edinburgh for a chippy now :(

I have it on fairly good authority that the sauce is watered down with the vinegar from the picked onion jars.

@WaxOnFeckOff

I miss chippy sauce :(

Can't get proper Edinburgh chippy sauce here, they actually offer you ketchup! Fucking KETCHUP!!!! They also have some brown monstrosity that doesn't look edible. Honestly though the chippy is great and everything is cooked to order so no more wait than usual. You come in one door, place your order and by the time you get to the other end and pay, it's usually near enough ready.

Our local chippy used to sell chippy sauce... I'll see if they do when they reopen.
WaxOnFeckOff · 04/08/2020 22:34

there is some brand you can buy that calls itself chippy sauce but it's not the same.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 04/08/2020 22:54

Oh it's not HP, it's off the cash and carry. That sounds plausible about the pickled onion juice, I've tried to make my own with ordinary vinegar before and it didn't work. Ofc the trick is to get it on while the chips are still sizzling, it's never quite the same adding it at home even if it's the real sauce.
