It's only an exit poll

Love

'The English'

ssd · 07/05/2015 22:48

well it wasnt the bloody Scots, was it?

OP posts:
TwoLeftSocks · 07/05/2015 22:50

Not all of us. And it's only the exit poll.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 07/05/2015 22:50

No, you're right. We're all just one big, homogenous right wing mass south of the border

MASSIVE Hmm

MadameJulienBaptiste · 07/05/2015 22:53

Well we're hardly likely to vote SNP in England are we?
besides, the votes aren't counted yet so no one knows who we voted in. Instead of staying up I am having an early night to get up early for news of the hung parliament shenanigans real result.

Permanentlyexhausted · 07/05/2015 22:57

Don't you think it is possible that the Scots may have elected a Tory government by booting out the Labour MPs who might have otherwise helped to form a majority?

Guyropes · 07/05/2015 22:58

You Scots should have given us a few snp candidates to vote for!

MuttonCadet · 07/05/2015 22:58

Well yes, the scots have effectively voted in a Tory government.

Superexcited · 07/05/2015 22:59

^^agree with permanently exhausted. If the exit polls are accurate then the SNP voters have made a big contribution towards labour getting less seats and baking a Tory led coalition more likely. The SNP voters are not the English!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 07/05/2015 22:59

Yay, very happy.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 07/05/2015 23:02

Well I haven't voted in the Tories. Sounds like my friends North of the border may have kept labour out though.

MishMooshAndMogwai · 07/05/2015 23:03

Agree with above- the increased SNP support has done the Tories the world of good. More fool Scotland.

I personally, as part of 'the English', voted labour both locally and generally so yanno, out of the 2 of us (assuming you voted SNP with the rest of 'the scots') who did the most damage?

ASAS · 07/05/2015 23:03

Can't stand this shite. 'The English'? Grow up.

How about A- we wait and see and B- we don't delight at the sheer division that will be the SNP legacy. A stronger voice in Westminster? In Scotland you speak for health and education and you've wrecked both.

TheRealMaryMillington · 07/05/2015 23:04

And The Scots have voted in a one party state and shafted any ideas of socialist solidarity.

ssd · 07/05/2015 23:05

no, I voted labour as I could see an snp vote would help the tories

god help us all.

I didn't Sad .

DressedUpJustLikeEdie · 07/05/2015 23:08

I never really doubted it. i knew it wouldn't be a massive majority but I knew there was never going to be a really serious, viable alternative.

Brandysnapper · 07/05/2015 23:11

What socialist party is there for us to stand beside? You don't mean Labour do you?

Bair · 07/05/2015 23:24

The Scots have voted in a one party state and shafted any ideas of socialist solidarity

Aye, Labour is so fucking socialist.

Ubik1 · 07/05/2015 23:39

Some English voted SNP

On the current exit poll even if scotland had returned all it's labour seats it still would have been 36 short.

If the exit poll is correct then ed Miliband and labour have failed the country . And Better Together destroyed Scottish labour

ssd · 08/05/2015 07:45

awful news to wake up to

I stand by what I said yday, although labour were crap and there wasnt much choice in England.

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 08/05/2015 08:03

no, I voted labour as I could see an snp vote would help the tories

So why are you blaming the English given you recognise a SNP vote was a vote for the Tories and that's what the Scottish voted for...?

FWIW, I don't agree with the threads blaming the Scottish voters either. The UK a a whole voted the Tories in again.

ssd · 08/05/2015 09:15

look at the political map, the tories were voted in in mainly the south of England, the UK as a whole didnt vote them in.

howabout · 08/05/2015 09:49

Anyone else think Boris might be right? Federal settlement between at least Scotland and rest of UK? Then I think effectively SNP cannibalises what is left of Scottish Labour and it is back to 2 party politics as usual?

This is my silver lining as I am not keen on living in a one party state where all the decisions are taken unilaterally either by the SNP or by dictat from Westminster.
