Oh God, I am such an old 70s feminist!

Why not shave your head too? That would be "cleaner and tidyer"?

Mamazon · 10/01/2010 10:49

cerainly easier to manage but i dislike the skinhead look personally.

I can assure you that my fanjo fashion choices have very little do with make influence.
my dp hates it being bald and would much rather i looked like a 70's bush lady.

It is me that prefers it.

Great minds Shiney, great minds

"my whole body is a sex organ..."

Mine is an amusement park.

HerBeatitude · 10/01/2010 11:00

Is he promising cunnilingus every time in return?

I'd do it for that.

nancydrewrocks · 10/01/2010 11:12

Almondfinger - I'm sure my cleaner would love it too!

Seeker Am i right in thinking your argument against is that woman should not do something just to please a man? Because it is very pleasing to me too

purplepeony · 10/01/2010 11:13

Can't understand this "feel cleaner " bit. If you shower/bath morning and night, then you are clean enough. It's like saying you don't like your own adult body- seems like you have a bit of a hang-up over what is normal for adult women.

Pubic hair is there for a reason-it traps the pheromones.

I think it's an assault on femininity- funny how women used to be outraged when they had to be shaved to give birth, to make them "asexual and cleaner" - and now they do it themselves.

there is a big difference between choosing to shave your bits (for whatever reason) and being made to do it purple

thedogsgottago · 10/01/2010 11:23

Do people go to beauty palour to have a wax or do it themselves? I did it myself once and it was so awkward and painful...Im afraid I resort to shaving, which has to be done every day almost, so would like to wax but dont want to do it myself, is it just ridiculously embarrassing to pay for someone to do it?

purplepeony · 10/01/2010 11:26

Woo- is there though?
The reasons for it seem to be the same- desexualisation and hygiene.

I don't think it's a case of whether it's coersion or not; it's a case of why do you want to do it?

I don't care what the reason are really, vut i think the OP should do what she wants. IMO most men like it cos it's how porn stars look and it adds to their fantasies.

Mamazon · 10/01/2010 11:28

i usually shave as its so much cheaper but i have a friend who is a beautician so if i buy the wax she will do it for me.

we get pissed and then she does it. it was a bity at first but i dont care now.
i have had a fair amount of gynea probs so im quite used to people looking at my lady patio rather than my face

MissWooWoo · 10/01/2010 11:31

re porn stars ... most probably. But have you ever had a mouthful of bush? I'm sure it's not great!

It's just something to try isn't it, if you want to.

I went through a phase of doing it all the time, because I wanted to, I like how it looked, felt and the fact that everything was much more sensitive when I had sex.

A friend of mine tried it recently for the first time and she hated it, she wasn't asked to do it but was curious.

Mamazon · 10/01/2010 11:32

purple i first started shaving following a conversation with my Dr. i had los of treatment for pre cancerous cells of the cervix, and various infections (not STD's)

I've been doing it ever since and not only have i had a much reduced level of infection and therefore less men having to go in with a head torch and speculum, i much prefer it.

honestly, oral sex is soooo much better. sex is general is more pleasurable as your clit isn't hidden under a mass of pubes so gets more stimulation.

sincitylover · 10/01/2010 11:33

I can't believe that this debate should still cause such controversy.

Shaved mine about 15 yrs ago at then h's request. Didn't feel demeaned in any way.

let it grow back then more or less since split with exh have shaved regularly whether I'm getting sex or not ie for me not to suit lover(s).

feels cleaner/more hygenic, adds xtra frisson to sex/diy (physically and mentally),does not look like little girl and does not compromise feminist principles.

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 10/01/2010 11:36

New boyfriend and already he is asking you to change .

purplepeony · 10/01/2010 11:41

Well, you must all have very bushy bushes if you can't find your clits for it!

No, I haven't had a bush in my mouth as a) I am not gay and b) I can't reach my own, but I DO like hairy men so theirs doesn't bother me at all. I'd run a mile if I had a bloke who shaved his.

MissWooWoo · 10/01/2010 11:44

he's not asking her to "change" he's asking her to try something new (to her) in the bedroom. What's wrong with that? If OP doesn't want to and he makes a fuss then clearly he's not the guy for her.

MissWooWoo · 10/01/2010 11:45

LOL at reach your own purple

nancydrewrocks · 10/01/2010 11:46

PP it has nothing to do with not liking my adult body. I have very heavy periods and frankly it all gets a bit messy and that is what I refer to it being cleaner. Of course if your prefer a bit of crusty menstrual blood far be it from me to argue

And sex is better. Not because I am stimulating DH's fantisies or he is getting extra pleasure (although this may be so!) But because it feels better to me.

FWIW I get it done professionally once every 6 weeks and would never shave - I cannot stand the itchiness!

HerBeatitude · 10/01/2010 11:50

So come on shineon, what's wrong with cunnilingus?

nancy- no need to get nasty Nancy!

Crusty menstrual blood- yuck- with tampons you don't get any crusty blood and without tampons all you have to do is wash during the day- a jug of warm water during a trip to the loo keeps it all clean.

Nope, I'm gonna stay a hairy mary.
