I am in danger of throwing a saucepan of boiling water over my husband and have decided to come upstairs to cool off. He is bombarding me with such hurtful comments continually like "fat bloater, useful fucking lazy bitch, heifer, stupid fucking useless c*" etc etc.

I have posted about this before and I want no sympathy I just need to tell someone before I boil him alive!

poor you jampots. You need to give him an ultimatum and stick to it. My h used to call me names when he lost his temper and as soon as i realised that he was only doing it cos it really upset me- i started to just laugh it off and laugh at him.
This coupled with the threat that I would leave him if he did it again really worked and he hasn't done this for ages. He used to do it cos he has an inferiority complex about me and has convinced himself that I think I'm better educated than him (I have a degree he has a levels) and therefore better than him.

Sounds to me like your h has an inferiority complex about something and is just trying to drag you down. Please do something though - although you have to be careful about the laughing thing as it could really push him to do something else

Wtf is this man on? Jampots, am so sorry you are having to deal with this. Is it that he thinks he's being hilariously funny or something? I just don't understand it.

Njata · 18/04/2005 15:35

This is abuse. However, if you feel that you are not ready to leave yet, have you considered fighting fire with fire? When he insults you, call him 'micro-penis'. Ask him if he is still sleeping with his mother. Tell him you hope to come home one day and find him dead in every room......... I am sure people here can give you inspiration. See how he likes it.

Njata · 18/04/2005 15:36

Actually, how about a competition, who's got the best insult for this poor lass to throw?!!!!!

Janos · 19/04/2005 09:14

[ahock] That is abuse and it's just not acceptable. Thinking of you jampots. What kind of man talks to his wife like that and

slug · 19/04/2005 15:28

Vile man.

You could try the retort I use when my ever so charming students point out that I have a less than svelt figure. I always tell them my problem is that I have a brain the size of a small planet. There's not enough room for it in my head so I have to store it somewhere.....

SkiBunnyFlummy · 19/04/2005 15:32

Maybe if everytime he says something to you just go right up close to his face and say loudly and firmly

C*NT

men hate that, he will get very angry first off but might stop eventually when he gets fed up of being called a C*NT

he sounds like he totally is one by the way. you poor poor thing. really feel for you

HappyDaddy · 19/04/2005 22:57

Jampots, can I come round and kick his head in for you? I hate bullies.
