Ok, am a regular but this is my "shy" name. dh and I have always had a good sex life, but was thinking about livening things up a bit. I never masturbate. ever. but was in Ann summers t'other day looking at some underwear (returning some that dh bought me for valentines) and my eye strayed to the... enjoyment sector.

but don't know where to start. dont want to dive straight into the 12" high speed dildo region.

be gentle with me, please

I talked to my friends about this when I first thought about getting one and they suggested rampant rabbit. It's the best £30 I've ever spent! That's probably a good one to start with. Hope that helps. The first one I bought didn't work but I was too embarassed to take it back, it no place to put batteries but came with an adapter so you could plug it in to your cig lighter in car!

savemyblushessochangedmyname · 18/02/2009 20:47

have you tried the bullets? they look pretty non-threatening!

I have it on fairly good authority that this knocks the rampant rabbit into a cocked hat (pun most definitely intended)

trixiethepixie · 18/02/2009 20:55

Bullet. Was hard to find the vibrate as it just kept twisting round.

Rabbit - I've just upgraded mine. 35 quid well spent

cheerfulvicky · 18/02/2009 21:53

What about something like this? Or a bullet, very non threatening but brilliant, especially if using with partner.

solidgoldbullet4myvalentine · 18/02/2009 21:58

Have a look on this site: loads of choices and product reviews as well... Vibros have changed a lot in the last 10 years or so, they used to be the most boring, unappealing things to look at (though they generally did the trick or should that be [wank]). You might as well choose something that's visually pleasing.
The Rock Chick listed above is supposed to be particularly fab BTW.

spicemonster · 18/02/2009 22:01

That was the one I mentioned solidgold - I haven't got one yet but my friends rave about them. I still haven't got over the utter horror and shame of being burgled and the burglers leaving my rabbit on the baby's changing mat. The police insisted on going into the flat first to make sure there was no one hiding. I am still mortified to think they would have thought I'd have left it on there myself

gigglewitch · 18/02/2009 23:10

roffle at [wank]

lilacclaire · 19/02/2009 00:29

Rabbit, I tried one of those bullet things and it was crap.

rolereversal · 19/02/2009 00:33

rabbit rabbit RABBIT!!!!!!!!!!!

only problem is it works too quickly!! (is that a problem)

macdoodle · 19/02/2009 00:37

oh just get a rabbit they are fabbbbb

TinkerBellesMumandFiFi2 · 19/02/2009 01:25

I used to be a Party Organiser and the rabbit still scares me!

As a total newbie I wouldn't say it's the best, what I suggest you do is go into the shop and try different ones against your nose. There is one they keep reinventing, I'm not sure of the current name, that's good. It has different attachments and you can use it together.

If you're not comfortable doing that in a shop look up your local PO in the Yellow Pages and ask if she will come and talk to you. If she's going to get a sale she should do!

lottiebunny · 19/02/2009 08:06

Bullet's are good. Other half likes that one because its something we can use together. Ann Summers did do a simple pink 6" vibe (can't for the life of me remember what its called) thats pretty good for starting out.

Not impressed with my rabbit, its so loud and I live in a shared house so its impossible to use discreetly. Bullet on the other hand is very, very discreet so if you have kids and don't want them to hear anything go for that. With a big pack of batteries.

sincitylover · 19/02/2009 14:36

can use rabbit and bullet together if you are creative!!! rabbit alone is pretty good together mindblowing. Use your imagination!!

Don't know why I waited so long to get a vibrator.

Didn't think my sexuality generally would be on the up in my 40s. It's brill and partially compensates for several years spent in largely sexless marriage.

elmoandella · 19/02/2009 14:56

i got a rabbit as a pressie. hated it. put me off them for LIFE. it was friggin huge!!too scarey to relax and enjoy iykwim

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/02/2009 15:35

agree bullets are fab, there is a small and large one

also rabbits are good, but a baby bunny is also nice

AnyFucker · 19/02/2009 17:19

sincitylover, I'm with you on that one

my sexlife is better now (in my 40's) than its ever been

JustKeepSwimming · 19/02/2009 17:25

I got talked into buying a rabbit at an Ann Summers party years ago, finally put the batteries in last week

not sure we used it right
was ok but wouldn't rave about it.

(think i should have namechanged for this bit)

do you put the whole 'big bit'/willy in?
seemed too big for me.....

rock chick? i'm too much of a prude, can't believe i'm even posting!

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/02/2009 18:19

yes you can put whole bit in, or just use the ears on your clit

i never name change but after the bum thread, not really any point
