Going to be nicer to my decent dh!

I got up this morning and after 20 mins of pottering around the house, I realised that almost every thought I had was some kind of criticism of my DH (he cooked dinner, but didn't do the dishes, put a cork on the half finished bottle of wine, but left all the glasses on the coffee table), and all I kept focussing on was what he hadn't done, rather than what he did do.

He is a lovely man, and this week, I'm going to consciously remind myself that I chose to spend my life with him because he's great....and I am not going to turn into a grumbling gorgon.

Anyone else want to join me in 'be nice to DH week?'

Me too.

Not nearly appreciative enough of dp, or of others in the family.

So today I have bought a variety bag of Walkers crisps (the one which has the public's flavour suggestions) and I've texted dp and dd2 so when they get home they can have a crisp tasting competition.

May seem crazy, but it's my way of doing something to show them I've been thinking about them (and not just because I've stepped over dd's clothes in the bathroom).

I was hot and then I got preggers. I don't think it all pings back to shape aftewards, does it? Oh well, beached whale it is then.

Off to pick up poorly dog from the vet. Wrong thread I know.

DH has looked after DD all day. After we fell out yesterday because she never got a nap, he did everything perfectly today and she slept 3 hours! He is converted to my "silly rules" as he had 3 hours on the computer/TV.

I managed to not moan about the clothes in the washing machine and had to force myself to thank him for the dishwasher unloading, looking after DD (my 2nd day back at work) and generally being a nice bloke. Its quite hard to be nice (IMO!)

I had a backsliding episode earlier when I found a pan of broccoli that DH had left sitting in the cooking water, so completely inedible. I had cooked twice the necessary amount of everything so that I don't have to cook tomorrow and all he had to do was serve it without ruining it. And when I asked (nicely) if he knew not to do that as it made the veg watery he got all defensive and said it wasn't his fault. Well whose was it then? So I am full of uncharitable thoughts.

I removed rubber clad pic Hoochie - didn't want to get a rep, yunno, but yes! isn't the nursery divine?! Now all I need is a divine baby to put it in.

Whoever said they get so irritated by previous episodes of Top Gear - I totally agree. Why is it ALWAYS on? And I always carp on about it....then last night DH said 'I never said a word when you were watching your dancing show' (was a Strictly addict), then I felt a bit mean really ....but I what came out of my mouth was 'But at least I don't watch repeats of it over and over - its really not the same'. Its pretty similar though isn't it?!

Maybe I will share this thread with him later on....depends on how much wine the evening involves!

Thank god the majority of my complaining also goes on in my head, otherwise I would officially be the most annoying wife ever.

What nice thing have I done for DH today? Hmm, ashamed to say, nothing yet. Must do better!

Boobz - hah, love your phrase of chewing own eyeballs. You have every excuse, let rip and just blame it on the pg hormones
