Does anyone have this on their facenook when they go to their reel history

Hi yes I check my partners phone because he’s made me an insecure mess . I hate porn and I have told his numerous times that it’s a deal breaker. Hes lied so many times in the past . When he’s telling me he’s not I still feel like he’s lying so I check his phone not a lot maybe a few times a year . Last night I looked and I found this under his reels . No I havnt got for you under mine i have nothing . I have also seen his reels before and they were full of half naked women so this is why I had a look . Could someone tell me if these accounts can randomly come up or is it because that's what he is looking at ? Im going to text him once I know more about it . Please no nasty comments . I am only looking for a reason . Thsnkyou

Hello. I'm a guy, even though I genuinely (and I mean this) hit the uninterested button next to the posts of half naked women, the algorithm keeps showing them to me and if I linger on one, and often thats pretty hard not to, I then get more. It's aggresively targeted at everyone.

I have no idea what your partner is or isn;t doing, but I will say it's impossible to get away from as a man unless you come off social media (which we all should!!)

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 02/10/2026 10:36

Well I get a lot of ' dogs needing homes ' - probably because I ' follow ' a couple of animal rescues.

and cakes ! as I also follow a couple of local cake sheds / bakers.

millymollymoomoo · 02/10/2026 10:42

They would only come up if he’s following those types of reels/have looked at them or similar /likes or comments om similar content

that’s how algorithms work
mine are dogs/bakers/nutrition and aging well related …..

irrespective, why stay with someone who has such a crushing impact on your confidence/self esteem and continually lies to you ,? It’s no way to live in constant mistrust

Maddy70 · 02/10/2026 10:45

If you are insecure enough to be checking his phone you should leave him. I honestly have never felt the need to check my husband's phone and if I did I wouldn't be with him

RowsOfFlowers · 02/10/2026 10:45

The fact he’s lied to you in the past, you are feeling insecure and you’re having to check his phone suggests to me that this is not the right relationship for you regardless of what comes up on the man’s algorithm. There’s no trust. It’s a disaster.

TY78910 · 02/10/2026 10:47

Everyone has a for you list - mine comes up as thumbnails not lists of content creators but maybe because I have the iPhone app?

It is true to an extent that men’s algorithms will have a degree of this type of content, not just based on what you watch but also the fact that their profile is male, their friends consume this content and so on.

HOWEVER, you would expect some here and there, not a whole exclusive list.

Two things from me though - that would give me the ick.

But also you do seem a little obsessive. I’d think about whether this relationship is for you. If you’re not comfortable with porn, then that’s not the person for you. The insta glamour models would be a no from me, because Instagram is what you consume daily not just in your private time.

eeemes · 02/10/2026 10:49

I think you’ve got to ask yourself why you’re still with someone who keeps lying to you. The social media stuff is irrelevant if you’re honest with yourself. Can it ever be good for you to be in a relationship like this, or would you be better off alone until you find a more genuine relationship where you can put healthy boundaries in place.

Honestly facebook is aggressive and if you have your profile settings as male and a certain age the algorithm will absolutely show you women jiggling their boobs whether you’re interested or not. FWIW I’m female and sometimes get them on my reel. I am not interested in half naked women in the slightest 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm also a guy and a while back I actively turned Sensitive Content Control (which includes sexually suggestive content) to 'Less' on my Instagram account so my kids didn't see anything they shouldn't while occasionally messing about on my phone. The only options available are: Less, Standard or More.

I don't follow any female "Content Creators" and don't actively seek them out, but I'm still constantly peppered with videos and photos from female accounts, whether I like it or not.

For example if I watch a reel - say, something to do with motorcycles - and then swipe up for the next reel, it's nearly always a video of a girl or woman half dressed. Because I've then technically viewed it the algorithm thinks I want to see more. At times it can be really awkward and embarrassing.

GoodGirlFaith · 02/10/2026 12:10

Why be in this relationship? It is never going to work long term.

It would ever occur to me to look at my partners phone. I actually use it sometimes to take videos as his has a better camera.

Is that right? I'm a woman and never get that. I did properly get the ick when I saw my ex (over his shoulder, not going through his phone) had a reel of very young women in swimwear jumping up and down.

ForTipsyFinch · 02/10/2026 12:49

the algorithm would show one or two. But the fact his whole ‘for you’ section is the same type of content is because that’s what he’s regularly viewing.

Tomikka · 02/10/2026 12:57

The algorithm will do this to a degree, and if you get a suggestion that you’re not interested in any time for your reaction to close it will top up in the algorithm.

But an entire list of women is giving a bit of a message.

(As a man) ….. my reel list is showing me clips of:

Ann Russel (commentator / cleaning expert)
Cosplayers/Steam punks (male & female, mostly female)
Graham Norton (the Lady Gaga & June Brown clip)
Young woman influencer (historian)
Jimmy Carr
Paintball
Random band promos
Film promos
Political / current affairs
TV comedy
Young woman (bagpipe rock cover)
Young woman (different historian)
Have I got news for you
Ozzy man

The algorithm (and content producers) do seem to have worked out that content with young women could be favourable, but also sees that I do have other interests

Mumlaplomb · 02/10/2026 13:04

If you are checking your partners phone to this degree I don’t think this is the right partner for you.

This. I don't seem to have the reels search, possibly because I don't have the app, only the website.

But as a man, facebook is really aggressive about showing me half naked women. I don't use social media for that, never have, but still every10th post or so seems to be a woman in a bikini, or doing something suggestive in the gym etc.

Its really bloody annoying and a big part of the reason I don't use Facebook much any more.

I never actually watch any reels so Facebook just seems to try anything

Having just had a look, it’s currently advertising
Someone cooking something (I hate cooking)
A man with a tattooed face 🤷🏻‍♀️
What looks like a trans woman but I can’t quite tell and I’m not clicking on it to find out
Katie Price
Cats. I do like cats

But yes, occasionally I get half naked women at the gym or whatever 🤷🏻‍♀️

secretrocker · 02/10/2026 14:57

I try to hide reels and with enough clicks they go away for a while and then come back.
Occasionally one gets clicked on then the algorithm seems to go into overdrive showing me those things again and again.
I wish you could turn them off - FB - if I wanted reels I'd install Tiktok!

Teawithfrenchtoast · 02/10/2026 15:32

I don’t watch reels on Facebook but have just checked mine and it’s mainly The Cure (one of my top bands) and local bake sheds. I think it would be unusual to have an exclusive list of that type of content, but maybe not impossible with algorithms

dreamingofgoodhair · 02/10/2026 16:01

You’ve told him it’s a deal breaker several times so why are you still with him ? If you’re checking his phone you don’t trust him so you need to split up.

Rachelshair · 02/10/2026 16:04

Dealbreaker yet you're still in the relationship, how does that work.

Brightbluesomething · 02/10/2026 16:39

Once you don’t believe him, or he’s obviously lying, and you feel you have to check his phone, it’s over. The trust is gone. Leave him and let your anxiety levels settle, this isn’t healthy.

BeEagerRubyBird · 02/10/2026 16:44

Facebook really does double down hard on anything it even thinks you might be interested in, and often that does seem to be based on age and life stage rather than you viewing things. Mine is pretty exclusively ADHD and collagen at this point, and I really don't spend much time looking at either! Even if I say 'not interested' it doesn't seem to work.

Having said that, if you don't trust him, that's a whole different issue.

HowardTJMoon · 02/10/2026 19:22

Am in possession of a Y chromosome albeit I don't use facebook much these days. Nevertheless I've just checked and my facebook reels suggestions are full of aircraft, space exploration, motorbikes, weird music, recipes, old computers and stand-up comedy (why yes, I am a monumental nerd. Why do you ask?) All of these are topics I tend to click on when I use facebook, youtube and so on. There were zero half-naked women in my list.

Pooky001 · 03/10/2026 14:32

OP I recently found my long term 50 year old partner actively following these types of accounts (not saying yours is doing the same thing and I’m aware that the algorithm does push this stuff, particularly if you’re a man by the sounds of it).. All young Only Fans girls in their 20s. We’re barely speaking and currently trying to live separately as I can hardly look at him I’m so disgusted by him and hurt. Pretty actresses, presenters, singers etc is one thing but not porn stars, strippers and OF people and young enough to be his daughter.

CorporalJohn · 04/10/2026 09:21

If he was once looking at porn regularly, FB will keep on sending them regardless. The algorithm has no off button and it will take a seriously long time for it to detect changes in his viewing patterns.

I'm not saying he's innocent, but it would take more than that before I would say he was guilty.
