What to buy from Ann Summers

Been with my new bf a few months. I want to buy a sexy outfit from Ann summers maybe a bodysuit or suspenders. This is my first relationship since my divorce and h sex life was non existent so I’m new to this. Would it be ok to txt him and just say something along the lines of getting a new outfit what do u like? Or would that sound weird.

Is this just an advert for Ann Summers?

Because I can't think why anyone would actually want to buy their tacky stuff .
It just shouts bad taste and desperation.

My knowledge of Ann Summers comes from the appalling adverts here on MN where the women are shown trussed up like pieces of meat in uncomfortable and cheap looking outfits.

These adverts have been the subject of a few threads in Site stuff where plenty of other posters have expressed similar views to my own so I know I'm not a maverick in my view.

My feeling is if OPs new bf is only interested in her if she is wearing a certain type of underwear it doesn't bode well for the relationship.

He’s definetely not only interested in me dressing up…in fact it is my idea.

and have bought a few things
mainly to feel good and sexy myself as I’m getting older

go into the shop try a few things on see what suits you
or maybe take a few pics in the dressing room and ask which one he likes best

I must say the type of guy who likes women in Ann Summers outfits is the type of guy I would take great care to avoid.

It depends what you like. I'm happy to dress up - in some things. There are other things I wouldn't touch at all, because even if my partner would like them, I'd feel so uncomfortable, it would put me right off doing anything.

I agree with you about some of their stuff but they do also have some really nice things in there. The days of them only having tacky things are long gone.

Let me explain...
In the first few months, each other's bodies are exciting enough. Throw in Amsterdam and youre already going to be having a sexy weekend away.
Save the lingerie for when its been a year or so and youre feeling like adding a bit of spice us really necessary

And yes AS is cheap and tacky, but there's a place for cheap and tacky, even in otherwise non cheap people and relationships

What happens to the items women try on in the dressing rooms and decide not to buy? Absolutely gross to think of customers trying on the same items of intimate clothing that goodness knows how many women have tried on before.

Absolutely 100% grumpy! What's wrong with wanting to wear some sexy lingerie to surprise a partner?!? In a woman married to a woman. There is nothing cheap about either of us. We are boringly middle class. I'm not sure what makes you think someone who likes to see their partner in sexy lingerie is a certain type of person?! My wife has slept with just a couple of people, is loyal, kind, not 'tacky' in any way but also very much enjoys the odd occasion I put some sexy lingerie on under an outfit for a night out.

I think the idea is to tease and just show a small amount of a bra or something. Leave the rest to his imagination. Whether in early relationship or years down the line what’s so wrong about spicing things up?
