Is it better to keep this from him

Hi,

Basicly is it ok to not mention to my DH that some friends of mine saw some explict pics accidently of him.

He would be mortified, he is very insecure, he would quizz me about it. He wld get more upset if I detailed it all.

The girls wouldnt say anything infront of him. I currently think what he doesnt know wont hurt him?

Oh dear, what a huge invasion of his privacy. How did that ‘accident’ occur?

I would say that if you aren’t capable of keeping his photos private, you should delete them. I wouldn’t tell him about what’s happened if there’s no chance that he’ll find out because it’ll only cause him embarrassment.

Ultimately if you send anyone anything you should be aware that it might inadvertently be seen by someone else. However, it goes without saying that you should be going over and above to protect the dignity of your husband.

Moresparecashplease · 16/10/2025 17:51

He can't be that insecure or else he wouldn't have taken / let somebody else take explicit photos of him in the first place.

So did you show them to your friends?

TwistedWonder · 16/10/2025 17:52

And I’m sure you’d be just as blasé if he showed his mates naked photos of you?

Agree either way PP I’m unsure how these were ‘accidentally’ shown to your friends but you have betrayed a massive trust and dignity.

If there’s no chance at all he’ll ever find out I wouldn’t say a word but I’d also delete the pictures so no more ‘accidents’ could occur

It was a friend who thought she was funny. Guessed my password for the private folder.
She obv shouldn't have but was her being silly.

If the same thing happend roles reversed I would be mortified obviously. I think I wld prefer not to know if it never got mentioned again

So it wasn’t really an accident then, was it? It was a ‘friend’ intentionally invading your privacy, and that of your husband. She must have known that nothing in a private folder would have been for her eyes. Have you fallen out with this friend?

You need better friends and a more secure way of hiding these photos from prying eyes

Though why on earth was she snooping through your private folders? And showing the photos to other friends?

It doesn’t quite ring true imo

These things happen, OP. A male friend was showing me and DH some photos of scenery on his phone... I swiped expecting more, and got a bit of an eyeful 🤯

He didn't really care, younger generation etc. Your DH would mind, so no need to bother him with this. It's not like anyone has posted them on Insta or YouPorn.

Everyone does daft things when pissed, if you've told your friend you wish she hadn't done it I think you've covered all angles!

I honestly don't see what it has to do with you. Or him!

Who just happened to find her private folder, guess her password and show other friends - of course that’s what happened……

Well, it's a bit like someone rummaging through your knickers drawer for a laugh. That reflects on them, not on you or the person whose knickers they find.

and pissed people do stupid shit...

What's the problem?

Am I being naive? My DH loves cracking passwords. Hacking people's data is not that hard if you know what you're doing.

I assume you’d find the problem pretty quickly if you found out that your DH allowed his friends to scroll through his phone, unlock photos of your minge and then pass them around for all his mates to have a good giggle at.

Her DH has to accept some personal responsibility for deciding to send the images, but presumably he did so on the basis that those photos were for her eyes only and she would prevent her mates from viewing and having a good laugh them.

Thank you. Im thinking people just want a night here. Ofcorse I was wrong to be careless with passwords. Ofcourse my friend was wring for what she did. I was only asking to whatbto do next

Tell him. It would be worse if someone ever told him and then he would wonder what else you would keep from him. Lies by omission are still lies

What I mean is, you did nothing wrong and neither did he. A friend intruded. I don't see how that's your problem, or his.

I was answering a PP. I think the answer to your question is, do nothing? You've told your friend it was out of order. End of story. No need to make this into something it's not, uness you think she took copies and is about to sell them to a porn site!
