I saw my ex today when he dropped our child off. He has 4 children to 4 different women, I’m number 3 🙋🏻‍♀️

Hes always been covered in tattoos and used to have my name tattooed on him (along with the previous exs which he had covered)

It’s been a warm day today so he tuned up in a t-shirt.
i wasn’t really looking but i did notice by name
had been covered up. I also noticed he has the name of his new girlfriend tattooed on him. That’s 4 different women’s names he’s had on him, each one covered and then gets the new woman somewhere else on his body 🙄😂

Theres really no point in this post, I’m not asking anything. It just sort of gives me a sense of confirmation that he will never ever change. He’s mid 40’s now.

Classy

Parcelit · 11/05/2025 19:02

The 2 before you no doubt also had this happy realisation when your name first appeared

ohyesido · 11/05/2025 19:03

Does he call them tatts as well?

Annascaul · 11/05/2025 19:04

Were you aware you were number three?
Did you think it would be different third time around?

Theunamedcat · 11/05/2025 19:05

My ex tattooed my name and our marriage date I told him not to but he wanted to as a "suprise" his mum paid for it she paid for the cover up too 😁

pimplebum · 11/05/2025 19:06

Can I ask what he covered your name with ? Naked lady , eagle ? Or just coloured you in ?

did you ask him to cover over the previous two when he came to you ?

Daisy12Maisie · 11/05/2025 19:08

My ex tattooed my name even though I don’t like name tattoos on his arm after cheating on me to show me he was in fact devoted to our family. Then he cheated again. It’s ridiculous and I agree that people don’t change. we have been separated many years and he is horrible to his current wife. My children worry about it but what can we do.

Yeah I knew I was number 3. I have a very close relationship with my step children and was very involved in their lives.

I can’t really answer if I thought it was going to be different, it’s all very much a blur now. I’m not that same person anymore. Subconsciously probably no.

Ah, I assumed from the phrasing that he had walked away from the first two.

I’m just faded out. I was part of a sleeve on his arm so now I’m just covered up.

Well I didn’t know he had his first exs name tattooed until she told me herself after we separated. She’s lovely - showed me a picture of it. He had that covered before we met.

The second ex was on his arm when I met him and he had it literally blacked out soon after. I don’t recall asking him to do it though - I was too soft so I don’t think I would have done

Almost 8 years

You laugh, but you had a child with him when he already had two with two other women and had already had their names tattooed before yours. He sounds awful, but your choices aren't to be gloated about.

Parcelit · 11/05/2025 19:20

You were optimistic OP!

There’s a lovely sense of peace that comes from seeing people for who they are.
Just feel sorry for the next one. And probably the one after that!

Well if you read the above - I didn’t know about the first tattoo 🤷🏻‍♀️

He is awful but that’s fine. I spent 3 years in therapy during and after my marriage. I needed to go through it as my own chidhood was shit. Absolutely no love, praise or affection from my parents leading me to be a complete people pleaser.

He was attractive to me for that reason and vice versa.

I LOVE who I am now and my life now. And my child is a huge bonus. I can handle my ex.

Im proud that I can laugh about it now - it’s shows a huge amount of growth. It was something I never ever thought I’d be able to get over for a long time.

There's no need to be rude. I'm sure we would all make different decisions if we knew then what we know now.

That’s exactly it - I used to question it so much. Wondering if I was the problem and if I could have done anything different.

He just repeats the same pattern over and over.

I do genuinely hope that this relationship lasts for the sake of my child and his other children but it is unlikely I suppose.

I do still care about him a lot, I’d rather be that way than bitter - but thank the lord I’m not in that place anymore! Moving straight onto her was the best thing he could have done for me.

Great response to a pointless and bitchy comment. Wish you nothing but happiness (and lots more laughs at this pleb) in the future.

YesThatsATurdOnTheRug · 11/05/2025 21:07

Oh dear how embarrassing for him! You'd think he'd learn to just write it with a sharpie..

Highlighta · 11/05/2025 21:10

I would feel the same as you OP. I honestly think there is more to it as to why people do it at early stages of relationships.

I had a fling with someone after ending a long marriage and he had his ex name on his shoulder. He would repeatedly ask me if it bothered me and would I like him to have my name done instead. I mean it wasn't my body so I said no, I didn't care for my name on his arm. Thank goodness as I broke it off shortly after.

I know someone who had a blokes name tattooed on her, in a very noticeable area. I was so shocked to see it as they had only met a couple of weeks before. But he is a real wrong un and I'm pretty sure she was coerced to have it done.

Edited

My ex really wanted me to have hus name tattooed on him - I wasn’t that stupid and never did it.

For him, I genuinely think he sees the women in his life as a possession. Tattooing her name on him means she belongs to him and he expects the same in return.

It’s absolutely bonkers to me.

This is exactly the opinion I have.

Once the name is on, you belong.

Obvs not for children's names or long term partners.

Thendeliver · 12/05/2025 15:44

The minute my date had told me that he had two children with two different women already… he wouldn’t have seen me for dust
