Feet gave me the ick.

I've had one date and several video calls with a guy I met a month ago that lives out of my area. He's spending a week in London on holiday and invited me to join him. As I'm certainly not ready to spend a week with him, I compromised and agreed a day. He messages daily and we've exchanged quite flirty messages and I feel that he has increasingly been thinking that we might both end up in his hotel room. The more I think about this, the more I get a bit uneasy as I don't have great body confidence and it's not as if I'm completely smitten although I like his humour and we vibe OK. He sent me a photo a few days ago and his feet gave me the ick. How can I bow out of this whole situation tactfully? I'd rather cut all ties as it will feel like a relief.

Just tell him that you’re not really feeling g it, wish him well and move on. Honestly it’s not difficult

Don’t get dragged into something you’re not sure about just to be polite.

Why did he send you a picture of his feet?!

It wasn't just of his feet - but he had no shoes and socks on so I could see them.

Omg that’s amazing. Are they rubber ‘sock’ type things? Can you wear them as socks? For fancy dress?

I gave you that in the very first post

arethereanyleftatall · 30/03/2025 12:17

It isn’t about his feet op. You very clearly just don’t like him. So the first answer had already nailed it ‘no thanks I’m not feeling it.’ That’s why the foot stuff started because it isn’t rocket science.

gamerchick · 30/03/2025 12:21

You're not feeling it OP. It's fine. Tell him you're not feeling it though.

One date and chatting for a month? It's not difficult to do exactly what @TwistedWonder said.

Say goodbye and block his number. Done.

But you did say it! Dress up games just got scary

TeaIsNice · 30/03/2025 21:16

can't he keep his socks on?

MeganM3 · 30/03/2025 22:06

Can you give us some more info as to what was wrong / why his feet made you feel like this?

I think if they were really really yuck then you’re justified and should say you’re becoming increasingly busy with work and personal life and while you enjoyed getting to know him, unfortunately you’ll have to end the situation.

Sulu17 · 30/03/2025 22:09

Just say you have changed your mind. You could be kind and say that you're just not ready for any kind of relationship yet. Or, you could say 'oi mate, sort out those manky feet you weirdo'

TooBigForMyBoots · 30/03/2025 22:12

You're being Avoidant.

Meet him and see how it goes. If you don't like him in person, you can leave anytime you want. You can even set an alarm on your phone and feign an emergency call when it goes off.
